![]() page 2 | ![]() page 3 DESPITE THEIR CONSIDERABLE STUDIO PROWESS, British supergroup Yes has always been most famous for unparalleled live shows. The band pioneered the use of lasers, elaborate fantasy art-inspired sets, "In-the-Round" revolving stages, and the best sound engineering in the business. But all of the amazing sights and spectacle can't surpass the extraordinary musicianship and chemistry of the members of Yes on stage. They've been blowing audiences away for over three decades. And no performance is more legendary than the band's March 21, 1970 Queen Elizabeth Hall gig. Of the countless shows Yes has played, that one night is the only time that the group performed its sweeping orchestral rock with a symphony orchestra. With each passing year, the legend of the Queen Elizabeth Hall gig has grown, and fans' desire to see an orchestral Yes perform their classics has reached a fevered pitch. Tonight, Yes answers the call. Vocalist/lyricist and multi-instrumentalist Jon Anderson, guitar wizard Steve Howe, bassist/co-founder Chris Squire and longtime drummer and percussionist Alan White set to work on a new studio album earlier this year. The idea was the replace the traditional keyboard role with a full orchestra. The band collaborated with Emmy award-winning television and motion picture composer Larry Groupe. It was a inspired union, yielding one of the group's most powerful musical statements. There was only one logical next step - to once again perform live with an orchestra. With Larry Groupe arranging and conducting, Yes presents songs from the stunning new album, MAGNIFICATION, along with best-loved classics. Some thirty years later, fans finally get the chance to witness the champions of symphonic rock perform their music as it was meant to be heard. |
