1.01 Firebird Suite (1.22)
1.02 Parallels (6.02)
1.03 I've Seen All Good People (7.24)
This is a partial bootleg recording of a Yes performance in Orchard Park, NY, on August 20, 1977. It took place at Rich Stadium (the home of the Buffalo Bills, today known as New Era Field), as part of their "Superfest at the Stadium" event. Yes were supported by Donovan (their usual opening act for this tour), the J. Geils Band, and Bob Seger. Sadly, just two songs (plus the "Firebird Suite" introduction) are all that's known to survive of their set. On the other hand, there are many high-quality photos of their performance, and you can see them all on Forgotten Yesterdays. I've included a ticket stub, as well as a souveneir "tuxedo" you could have gotten at the event, in this download.
I found the songs on YouTube, where they had seemingly remained without being posted to Songs of the Earth, Dimeadozen, any other torrent tracker, or elsewhere. I've decided to liberate them for your viewing pleasure. They were ripped from the YouTube uploads as .WAV files, and then converted to .FLAC in Audacity at the highest possible quality (Level 8, 16-bit). No remastering of any kind has been done to these recordings, although in my opinion, they could use some. It's just that I lack the audio-editing skills and software to make them sound better. Among various problems, Rick Wakeman's pipe organ on "Parallels" is high-pitched and shrill; listening to that song might give you a headache. =P
> Song list:
1. Firebird Suite (1:22)
2. Parallels (6:02)
3. I've Seen All Good People (7:24)
>> Total running time: 14:48
Now, remember: When sharing bootleg concerts on the Internet, *always* transfer the files in a lossless format. They can be in .FLAC, .WAV, .AIFF, or whatever else, but nobody wants to lose precious bits of data in the process. Also, it's not a good idea to buy CDs of bootleg concerts; most of the time, the music is already available for free online, and you're being ripped off. You can always burn a CD for personal use after acquiring the files.
Enjoy this download, and don't forget to support Yes' *official* releases as well. =)
