I was at this concert !! I don't seem to remember Gryphon though. Yes, it was moved to the fronton ! Big wide stage there. The stage props were amazing ! They lit up and moved as the guys played under them ! Now I've got to get a copy of thr show !!!

This was actually my second concert ever (I had seen Uriah Heep earlier that year) and I was already a Yes fan. I was 15 years old and with a bunch of friends and my older brother and like the previous reviewer wrote, the staging was excellent. Patrick Moraz was fine--though I missed Wakeman, Morazīs playing was superior. Steve Howe impressed me more than anything else, though, not only the stage presence but the quality of his playing was remarkable, lyrical and strong. A concert I shall never forget.

Actually, if the show was scheduled in Hollywood it must have moved, because I remember that show being at the Miami jai-lai fronton (or however the hell you spell it.) It was my first concert. I was thirteen and my older brother took me. I was almost as excited about seeing them as I had been about taking a certain ergot extract ( also from my older brother) earlier in the year. It was during that particular trip that we listened to Close to the Edge. The show was a feast. I'm sure that some of the party favors enhanced the visuals but damned if they weren't over the top. There was a screen shaped like wings behind them and I remember a set of ribs and lungs that undulated during one of the Tales numbers. In fact I have to report that the Alice Cooper show I saw months later seemed silly and lame theatrically after the Yes show (superior music yeswise aside.)

Sound wise it pretty much echoed a lot of what I'd heard on Yessongs except for the tales material and Relayer album. I still wish that I had seen Wakeman instead of Moraz but I think that Patrick Moraz made Relayer a unique album and tour. People either love or hate that record (I dig it myself.) Anyway I don't think that I have ever been to a concert that amazed me more; and I'm 37.

Oh one thing---I remember vividly a great Steve Howe solo spot during One of the songs from Relayer or Tales--I don't remember which---Like Segovia Jerry Garcia and Lindsey Buckingham rolled into one. When I saw them the next time it was 1991. He threatened to steamroll Trevor Rabin so much that I thought they were going to have to pump more ego into Rabin just to keep him alive.
