DUSTY Was at this show with my best friend Kerry, it was outdoors at a football stadium cut in half. Not a big crowd, we got right in front. Moraz was insane! The wind was blowing the cymbals in an almost verticle position. Totally cool when you were as high as we were! The locals were rude and just wanted "Roundabout" over and over. During a lull, someone threw a bottle on-stage, it whizzed past me and Kerry's head, breaking at the foot of Chris Squire. Squire looked right at us with the look of "what the fuck?". We looked back at him and the 3 of us just shrugged! Squire never missed a beat and they went on to boogie the house DOWN!!! John Marti wiliam arnold: I was at that Deep purple/Fleetwood Mac cocnert and it was a real bummer. We all had a good buz going during Mac and the riot really got out of hand when a girl was hit in the head with a wine bottle. We were in the fourth row and Ali Kazali was working security on stage when he got hit with a chair and the riot was on. My friend got bit by a Metro police dog outside. It was a real bummer of an evening. By the way Fleetwood Mac was GREAT! wiliam arnold footnote; the reason there were no concerts at the convention cntr. was because of a horible riot there during & after a fleetwood mac/deep purple show;I was working security when they told us half way thur mac's set that deep purple was not going on.the crowd started throwing chairs and then snowballed into one angry violent enity, people were hurt, cars burning, damage everywhere and more police than I've ever seen in my life.I hope I never see people lose their minds like that again.... wiliam arnold this show was at the outdoor las vegas statium(not the cc rotunda)massive topagraghical stage set,I was having fun w/ steve howe he was showing off the worlds 1st guitar synthiser, his massively strong and large hands were flying 6 ft in front of me,looking up every now and them to see who wwas paying attention.A rare storm weather situation started to blow in halfway thur the show and Jon declared we were going to sing the storm away, within 20 min. the sky cleared to reveal a beautiful nite full of stars.great time....! Michael Noto Great show at the Las Vegas Stadium. They still did not like rock and roll at the Convention Center. Last Yes show I saw in Las Vegas until 2002. The sound system went out during Patrick M. solo which was a bummmer but Ritual was AWESOME! I finally saw the Patrick M solo with a poer failure on a bootleg in 2001.... |
