That was the tour in which only bands with three letters in their name were allowed to open for Yes. So you hade Ace (three letters) as an opening act for Yes (three letters).

My first live YES concert - and it was magical. I had never heard or seen anything like it. I was so totally into the band, being a keyboard player and songwriter - I marvelled at their musicianship! I was about #10 in line that morning. There were jugglers who came by, people were talking with each other - my friends Kevin and Greg were there. All in all an incredible experience.

Like David in the previous post, this was my first Yes concert. To say I was blown away would be an understatement. I had a friend who had spent the whole previous night playing the 8 track tape of Relayer for me on continuous loop. I hadn't bought it yet, but by the time of the show the next day, I could have gone up on stage and played with them. I have never heard an album, or seen a show, to this day that did as much to my musical perspective as Relayer. This show, and that album opened up a whole new world of music to me. I was already a Yes fan. My favorite album up till then was Close to the Edge. I thought I had a handle on complex music, but this.............................no words can express.

Also, like David in the previous post, I've seen them on every tour since, and don't plan on stopping till they do. I would go on to 'almost' re-capture this special feeling at the Solo's Tour, The Going for the One Tour, The 9012Live tour, The Union Tour, and the Masterworks tour, but alas those incredible shows, (and all the other years, for that matter), would never touch me in exactly the same way. I guess, like they say, there's nothing like your first. The rest is just chasing the dragon.

This Seattle show was the first time I ever saw Yes live. It was "festival seating" on the floor, i.e. no chairs, standing room only. I got there first thing in the morning to get in line, and got right up in front of Chris Squire when I finally got into the arena that night. I was completely blown away by the sound, the lights, the music, the entire experience. I had never been to *any* big-time rock concert before, so you can imagine how my 20-year-old mind was reeling from it all.

Since this show I have seen Yes every year that they have toured, and I have no plans to stop until the band does. :-)
