49 years ago to-day!

I can''t believe this was almost 35 years ago! This was much more than just a show--it was truly a festival atmosphere and reigns in my memory as one of the great concert experiences of my life. It was just a beautiful starlit night--laying on the hill with my girlfriend and friends staring up at the stars while Yes serenaded us. This was a magic, wonderful, innocent time of my life. How could I have known the years, the decades, would go by so fast.

I was there with my dad and his girlfriend and her newborn son. My dad and her were NOT into Yes but it was cool walking around with the little one on my shoulders. I got lots of attention from the chicks that way. ;-)

It was a beautiful show, on a perfectly beautiful July early afternoon/evening.

Yes was, well, Yes at that time. Just beautiful and harmonic and the music was so full of love.

I'll never forget it.

I remember waiting at the artists entrance with my gutsy friend Bob and as the guys got out of the limos he stopped and asked them for backstage privileges. They were cool and polite and said the manager lets NO ONE backstage anymore. Bob ended up getting an All Access pass from JED, the Limo guy and we watched the whole show from the center aisle right up front! I was apprehensive because I was a Wakeman fan but Moraz was dazzling too! We miss the MRF!

I too was at this show - HS in St. Louis at the time. I recall Dave Mason opening for YES and being super stoned. It was a great show! Warm evening - lots of stars and making out with my girlfriend at the time. YES was superb and we made the most of what Dave Mason sang "Love the One You're With". Those were the days!

I was actually working as a tent usher that night. Luckily, the YES crowd was so mellow, I was able to pretty much watch most of the show from a tent pole about 10 rows from stage. Great "seats" and got paid for doing it. What more could you want....

The first time that I saw Yes was at the Mississippi River Festival. Jackson Brown opened up. I remember being very impressed with their ability to recreate their complex sound live.

I was there that night and it was marvelous. I'd seen yes twice before at the Kiel Auditorium in St. Louis. I don't remember the exact play list. I do remember it was a perfect night under the stars. I was in love with Sherry and she was there. They played great, seems like they played alot off of Fragile & Close To The Edge. The acid was really good so the stage and the lights looked really good, and the sound was excellent, especially since they were outdoors. I remember going to take a leak and the lines were terrible, so I decided to go to the tree line like everyone else. As I walked through the mud, I remember the mud because I was bare footed I began to wonder way there was so much mud when it hadn't rained in a very long time. It was then that I put two and two together and came up with piss. Piss or no piss it was a great nite, and a great concert.
