This concert features Jon possibly in the worst vocal shape i ever heard him!! He blowed his voice halfway the Philadelphia 7/22/1975 gig (the very previous night)and as the recording of that concert shows off, he started sounging pretty strained by TGoD! On the Providence show, he's even weaker and is forced to ammend phrasings on songs radomly (wich almost never works poperly). He even apologizes for his throat condition before AYAI. The rest of the band is in great form as the usual!

By Sound Chaser, there's no noticiable cracks/breaks, but you can already hear that Jon has a pretty weak sounding at his voice; during Close To The Edge, the vocal fatigue becomes totally evident as he ammends the "Not riiiight awaay" lines, plus fails several times trying to hit higuer notes! On a positive side, Moraz doesn't fucks up the keyboards like he did on the QPR '75 show! As the song ends, Jon apologizes for his voice like he did in Philadelphia, and tells the crowd to sing along to the songs due his shot voice. His delivery of And You And I is pretty mixed, as he sings certain lines clean but on others he tends to sound pretty rough and strained, plus he hits off notes throghout the performance! The Gates Of Delirium has some barking throghout, plus Jon messes up the vocals again during the Soon section, but not so badly as on the previous concert at least! Your Move is one of the best moments of the show, but some lines are still slighty ammended, Mood For A Day is a typical flawless performance by our favourite guitarris mr. Steve Howe, Long Distance Runaround has a few rough vocal spots but sounds MUCH better than the Philadelphia version, and Moraz' piano solo can show you off why he's one of my favourite ever keyboard players! Steve Howe returns to the front of the stage to play a typical faultless version of Clap, but the next song isn't exactly faultless: Ritual is absolutely the worst version i ever heard thus far, as Jon ammends nearly 50% of the vocal parts plus his voice fails lots of instances throghout the rendition. To make up for it, the musicality of the band is nothing short of brillant (notice Alan's drumming - it's so amazing, i just wish he was at this same shape nowadays). As the rowdy crowd shouts for more, the band returns to the stage to play Roundabout. I really don't know wich version is worse: this one or Philadelphia! The radomly ammended phrasing is starting to really become distracting by this point, and if it wasn't enough, the band is forced to stop the song halfway the secound chorus, maybe due a confusion into the audience (i'm not sure, but anyone here can conffirm what happened that night please?). As the song ends, the crowd still cheers for more, and they close the show with Starship Trooper, wich is actually a stunning performance (especially from Moraz, his synthesizer solo pretty much rivals Wakeman's keytar solo spot during the 1977/9 period in my honest opinion), plus Jon is able to sing most of the song fairly well (at least the new phrasing doesn't sound too bad)! Overrall, this is not the best Yes show, but if you want a fantastic sounding recording (thanks Dan Lanpinski for all the tapes provided) so you shouldn't ignore this concert in my opinion!
