Rhea Frankel Thursday, February 21, 2013 9:45 PM I went to this show! I wrote about it on my blog at [Link] Ed Arnold I got to the Tower early as I had an extra ticket I wanted face value for. I brought my new CD Keys with it's insert along just in case I met a band member. Myself and 3 other gents waited near the stage entrance so we might meet the band. There was a nice security guard there that we included in our conversations. His car was blocking the corridor to the back stage door. Suddenly he got a call and he pulled out long enough for Steve Howe in a White BMW (station wagon?) along with a friend ( rumored to be a relative in the area) to pull to the bottom of the 100 ft. corridor. The security officer returned his car to its position and that was that. What a nice guy! He walked all the way from the stage door up the 100 ft ramp to meet us and sign autographs. Jim? from Hershey,PA had about 9-10 albumns and Steve Howe signed all the ones he contributed to. I had seen the set list on A.M.Y. so I remarked to Steve how much I was looking forward to the show "what a set list", I said. Steve:"Thanks, the set is a good one isn't it. You know about this from the Internet?" Ed: "Yeah, and I couldn't ask for better!" Steve posed for a brief picture and then walked quietly towards the stage door with a "Have a good show" over his shoulder. Steve looks great with a big smile and unassuming manner. Thank you Mr. Howe for making this fan feel like a kid again! The show was great! I had a hard time selling my fourteenth row ticket. Around 8:10 I decided to just give it away rather than let it burn be. I found someone who took it and then said I've got $22.00?! Much appreciated Jim. I was glad to do it! Drm One down, two to go. If you were a Yes fan in the '70s you will love this show. I think the '78 Tormato tour was the last great Yes show and tonight's show was as good or better. The band - Jon sounded as good as ever. It's amazing a man his age can still hit those high notes. hmmmmm.... Steve gets better every time I see him, and tonight was no exception! I have always thought Chis was having the most fun on stage, he certainly appeared to enjoy tonight's performance. . He has not lost his passion for playing live concerts. Alan was very good as always. Igor was great! He certainly can help take the band to year 2K. Turn him up! Billy , well what can I say about Billy? The crowd - Noisy at quiet parts of songs but that's ok - we're all excited. The Philly crowd made it clear what style of music we want to hear from Yes. We prefer the British Yes. The venue- The Tower is old but intimate. It was very nice to see Yes in a theater vs. a hockey rink or stadium. The sound was good, except at times you could not hear Igor (at least from the cheap seats.) It was also nice to not be frisked as we so often are when entering an event such as a concert. The Tower staff contrbuted to a very pleasant evening. Did anyone at the 10/24 Philly show see that stage light fall from above Steve Howe's head?! From my seat at the rear of the balcony (thank you Ticketbasterd) it was hard to tell how close it came to hitting Steve. Ghost Great show at the Tower tonight! (My front row seats didn't hurt - thanks 'ZZO.) Started at 8:10pm and went 'til just about 11:00pm. Billy Sherwood did a nice job with back-up vocals and guitar. Nice covering of Rabin's parts as well. Igor was also impressive. Actually, it's really Sergei Federov. Notice he's still not playing with the Wings! |
