Keith Buckley Very briefly, the best of the 14 Yes concerts I've seen and probably the most exhilerating musical performance I've ever witnessed. Simply incredible. I'm posting a longer review to NFTE, but here's the fun stuff for hard-core fans. During his intro to "And You And I," Jon described the afternoon during which he wrote the song, telling us "... and Eddie, our engineer, had just rolled the biggest joint I'd ever seen." While I must've waited all my life to hear TRSOG, I was also overjoyed to hear Steve open his solo spot with "Diary Of A Man Who Vanished," one of my favorites from The Steve Howe Album. Flawless! The biggest screw-up I've ever heard them make-- during "Starship Trooper," just before Jon starts to sing "follow," he got completely lost, stopped, and completely broke up when Billy looked over at him and said, "Hey! You fucked up!" I thought Steve might be getting angry over the break, but he was laughing as well. GREAT SHOW!!! |
