Due to lack of ticket sales the Dec. 16th show in Santa Barbara has just been canceled. I for one am very disapointed ! :-( ! The 16th is my birthday and I was really looking foreward to seeing another show ! If ticketbastard would have put the show on sale online, then I would have bought tickets, as well as many others in the LA area. The local demand in Santa Barbara would be expectingly quite small. Ticketbastard blames the promoter for asking that tickets be limited to local sales only for the first 4 days. This does not make sense or dollars, from my point of view, it seems, that a promoter would want to give as many people access to tickets as possible i.e. more people = more tickets sold = more money.
I just happen to be browsing the ticketbastard sight, and came across it. It was just by chance. I talked to the venue on suday, they didn't seem to know if there was any advertising, and that tickets went on sale Sun. morn. It was about 2:00pm when I called and they said they had only sold about 100 or so. So they might have advertised in some local paper. It is really said the way promotion for this tour has gone. How can they expect to sell tickets on a word of mouth basis only ? It might have been ok in the 70's or early 80's, but a that time their music promoted itself. Now, they don't get airplay, therfore they have to pay for decent advertising.
I just don't understand this Bill Silva Presents not pushing this a little more. They are a rather large concert promoter.
Well, just chalk it up to poor management, AGAIN !!!!

I guess the Santa Barbara show was announced a bit late (less than a month before the actual show) and suffered from poor publicity.
