Yes, there were some unique moments at this show. At the end, they did dump 'popcorn' on Igor and after the encore, Alan Parsons swept up the mess (wearing a janitor's overall). During Roundabout, Steve's son Virgil was playing a timbale or some similar drum. But the best moment was at the end of And You And I. After the heavy, majestic part quites down, Steve started to play but Jon did not come in. Steve looked over at him and then Jon said something like 'sorry but I got lost in the moon over the trees'. So of course everybody in the place turns around to see and it was just beautiful. The full moon on a clear night rising over the palm trees. So after that, Steve started the guitar part again and all was well. It was a nice Jon moment.

The story about the encore is absolutely true! It WAS hilarious! Especially so with Parsons sweeping up.

As mentioned Anderson did stop the show to point out the Moon rise and if I remember properly, He decided to play Heart of the Sunrise right then as he stared at the Moon while singing to us.

By the way, that is the first time I had seen Alan Parsons Project live and I thought they were fabulous! Just a great opening act for Yes.

Once again, an incredible show. I travelled 1500 miles to see Yes in Detroit @ the Fox Theater 11.3.97 and I was thoroughly satisfied, but this time I had a more refined enjoyment of the show. My arrival at this show was a dramatic one... As I was handing my ticket to the usher at the gate, I heard the first notes of Firebird Suite, I just started making a mad dash for the seats. We had seats in the middle of the surround sound field, so needless to say, I had to dose. I get to my seat, about 30 rows back, as soon as Siberian Khatru begins. Such an amazing show. I was thoroughly impressed with Heart Of The Sunrise being played with a more appropriate feel by Alan. And You And I, as always beautiful, with Jon stopping the song before the last passage to point out the moon in the skyline behind the audience. Close To The Edge and Yours Is No Disgrace were pulled off gracefully, without the glitches I noticed in the webcast of the Chicago show. I was thoroughly impressed. They seemed in good spirits, it being the end of their long stint of touring. I hope to see them in 99 (without having to travel 1500 miles!) and I hope to see them play some unexpected pieces (i.e. South Side Of The Sky, To Be Over, Awaken). until then...

Thought he was okay,now after some discussion,Mike has a point....What is this noodeling with Casio keyboards????? Dont they pay this guy?? (1 word ,Igor..."HAMMOND"!!.Here's another idea...go to Keith Emersons House,and steal a Korg,or something...get sponsorship!!!!).Damn I miss Rick!

3-Why no "Revealing Science"..or "Turn of the Century"?????

Just to be fair,some really Great Things about the show

1-Alan Parsons as the opening act(Dr.Tar and Professor Feather was a GREAT SURPRISE!!!!)
2-Jon didnt have a "bad night",as rumored at other shows.
3-Wondrous Stories
4-No Trevor Rabin(actually,I noticed nobody named Trevor at all on stage)
5-No Attorneys(or tofee apples....no clowns.)


By the way,am I the only one on the planet who thinks that Jon can probably do a decent version of "Into the Lens"???

I thought the band sounded great....like I stated earlier....get Igor some decent keyboards.

Wondrous Stories was a true highlight tonight...finally after seeing them for the last 20 years I finally got to see them do this song live!

And You and I....flawless...this song just seems to get better with age.

Liked "Long Distance Sombreroround"....never thought I would see Steve wearing a sombrero....just doesn't strike me as the mariachi type...do they serve macrobiotic food in Mexico....read TACO BELL

I second Kev's statement....it's nice to see a lawyer-free Yes....almost like a demilitarized zone.

No fair teasing us with Tempus Fugit during Chris' bass solo....I did appreciate the fact that he did not do the DAZED AND CONFUSED version of FISH.

Let it be known.......there will never be a REVEALING SCIENCE OF RABIN <-------------- notice when you properly unscramble his last name you get a BRAIN.

Can anyone confirm the story I heard about the encore of the Coral Sky show?

I heard: sometime during the last set, 2 huge tubs of popcorn were brought out and set near Igor's keys. After the encore and before the bows, the band dumped them both on Igor's head, and generally had a great time laughing it up. As they were taking their bows, a guy with a broom comes out on stage and starts sweeping up. Steve and Chris turn around to look at the guy and start busting out laughing. Jon turns around to look, and covers his face with his hands in embarassment and laughter.

The guy sweeping the floor is ALAN PARSONS. They all leave the stage together.

Is this really true?!? Hilarious, if so!
