Just come back from the first gig! WOO, it was really exciting!
As I'm drunk enough now because of the big party after gig with my Yes friends, I'll make it short.
But it was a really amazing and impressive night for me!
Oct/8/98/Shibuya Koukaido, Tokyo Japan This venue is just the same place where they played for the first time on their first Japan Tour in 1973.
And You And I - Jon lost his word/lilycs for a while!
AKATOMBO - (Japanese traditioanl song for kids, meanig "RED DRAGONFLY" Jon semmed that he couldn't memorize the song, so he sang it having the tape played back with a small tape recorder! That was fun!)
Long Distance Runaround - (Steve appeared with the big mexican hat Sombrello)
I've Seen All Good people - (Jon asked the audience to sing along with him, and told that,"If you don't remember the words of the song, humming is OK!" Then Chris told Jon that,"Do you yourself remember it?"! HAHA!:-)
Steve Howe was really amazing! Moving and moving, and jump! Tonight's audience was different. They didn't stand up untill the end of the gig. It was not same as Talk Tour, but just like as gigs in '70s over here. I thought that many TROOPERS was gathering instesd of GENERATORS! Actually there were many elder audiences. The length of the gig was approx. 140mins.
Last night Jon and Chris appeared on the INTER FM in Tokyo for their promoton and had some interviews. Before Children Of The Light was introduced by DJ, Jon talked about the episode of the gig in LA on July where a junior high choir was invited to sing along the band on the stage, as you know. Jon says that they will take 2 weeks' off after Japan Tour and will go to Vancouver to record a new album with the AEROSMITH's producer until January.
Yes is going to record the new materials with the same members of the current tour, so we maybe can hear more new songs live on the forthcoming tour of the next year, according to the interviews done by the YFFC stuffs.
OK, that's all for now. I'll keep you posted after tomorrows' gig in Tokyo.
