Going for the one was not played at this show. They did Starship trooper and Yours is no disgrace. When they played Going for the one at other shows they only played either Starship trooper or Yours is no disgrace.

Possibly And You and I. There is a YouTube video of them playing this song on the 1977 tour (Scotland, I think) and Steve Howe plays the Ric 12 string in place of the 12 string acoustic and 345 Stereo.

This isn't a review but I was looking at the above pictures and I was wondering if anyone knows what tune Howe and Squire were both using Rickenbackers on? I can't figure it out by looking at the set. I know Howe used the Ric 12 string on Awaken but Squire would have been using the Triple Neck Wal Bass. Anyone?

YES THIS WAS COBO HALL NOT OLYMPIA,I WAS IN THE NOSEBLEED SEATS IN THE BACK,MORE THAN ANYTHING I REMEMBER THE POT THAT WE GOT BEFORE THE SHOW, IT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE BLACK SHEEBAH!? IT WAS REALLY BLACK! GOES TO SHOW YOU WHAT NOSEBLEED SEATS WILL DO ,OR WAS IT THE BLACK.....TORMATOE INDEED

My first show at Cobo arena and wow! It was so much louder then the shows now. I remember my friend next to me screaming at the top of his lungs and I couldnt even hear him. Now we were up in Tier C and I remember as we were looking down on the stage they had these geometric shapes cut out of the carpet in different colors so when the lights changed scenes like from blue to red, it made an optical illusion like the were standing on a raised block or down in a square dug out. It was really cool. And the bass in Awaken when the Taurus pedals kicked in was something I will never ever EVER forget! The whole place shook and it just vibrated you to your bones! Yea, my first concert at Cobo, wow!!!

This was my first concert ever. And at 15, what a treat to see Yes and Donovon. Now 44, I have seen the band over 30 times and Steve and Jon on several solo tours. Cobo arena was THE place to see concerts back then. Everyone come to Detroit. The place was electric and I must say that Donovon was quite the warm up to Yes. A great light show. Magical. The boys played a lot louder back then than they do now which I miss. All I can say was smoking inside was still legal back then (although what we were smoking still isn't). It is a memory that I will never forget. Quite the initiation to rock and roll.

I wasn't at this show physically, but spirtitually I was.
I have listened to a Bootleg of this show 1,000 times.
This tour/show was not to be believed. The sound & presentation
of the material is beyond mindboggling. The Close To The Edge
& Awaken & everything sounds so much better than the 1990's versions
it's scary. Total pandamonium. Yes is great now, but in the 1970's
they were playing these songs with so much more vigor & power.
They were blazing. In 1999 during Awaken people were saying this
is great. In 1977 people were saying WHAT WAS THAT!!!!!!!!
