Mark Dolan Thursday, January 2, 2020 7:12 PM I sat in section TT, front row, balcony. Donavan was such a great opening act. This was my second YES concert and I saw them a third time. Always an experience so much so I recall it 43 years later. Joe Choat Monday, October 3, 2016 9:43 PM What is show. I remember the night I was there with my high-school friends, there I was with my girl friend Linda Larsen, Bob Larsen and Barb Mauss, what show I remember how surprised I was when Donovan came and he was jumping around crazy, I just didn't expect it. It was a fantastic show, another thing that was cool is that my grandmother lived on 47th Place near 47th and Halsted Street, you would drive into the city park by Grandma's and walk right over to the amphitheater. So it became a ritual for my high school years to return every year like clockwork as Yes would come to town as Amphitheater begin to lose its popularity, we would go to see them at places like the UIC Pavilion for Poplar Creek Music Theater all the memories what a fantastic time to be a teenager, David Nemeth I saw Yes at the international ampitheatre in 77 and they kicked butt! Donovan opended the show and got eveyone into his hit "Mellow yellow" It was a good night for Donovan and he was warmly recieved. Yes hit the stage and Kicked ass although I did not know the songs I got what the expressed. This is one of my top concert experiences. I remember they had a green laser beam during some songs that was increadible, before people thought that lasers were dangerous. Everyone was blown away by YES. "Going for the one" remains my all time favorite Yes album. |
