I was 15, it was my first gig and I'd come all the way down from Leeds to see them. To this day it remains the best concert I ever saw. I'll never forget towards the end, hundreds of people circling the revolving stage, hand in hand dancing round and round. It was fabulous, such musicianship and such music, but most of all - the vibe. It was so positive and life-affirming, like all their music. There's no filth of perversion, no shock tactics, no death and destruction, just songs expressing a joy of life, with aspirations towards a final evolution where spiritual realities are no mere cliches, but real and attainable goals. This band went a long way to showing me what could be, so, Jon, Steve, Chris, Rick (if yr sober) and Alan, not to mention Bill, Pat and whatsisname, thank you. You were smashing.
