Does anyone know if this is the show students from Salisbury School attended way back then? I know the school bused us to a YES show around this time. Wondering if there are any Salisbury School people out there who would know?

'Madrigal' was done again, a capella this time, before 'Clap'

This was my first Yes concert. We arrived early and bought some "Blue Mescaline." Knowing what I know now, the substance is uncertain. But it worked very well! The show was in the round, of course. We were not that close to the stage, but from our seats we could see some empty seats, so we jumped a barrier and ended up in the 5th row!

Probably all I knew of Yes at that time was Roundabout, All Good People, and Long Distance Runaround. So the music was unfamilier, but I was blown away. I remember thinking that Steve Howe looked scarey, especially when he was doing an intense solo. The biggest visual impression though was the overhead light setup. At some point the overhead rig decended somewhat, tilted slightly to one side, and there were hydralic "pedals" that hinged inward. In my altered state, the whole thing looked like a giant illuminated flower, and the impact was such that I can still see it in my mind's eye. Fantastic! I made my friend Brad drive home.

More specifically, Squire broke a string on his bass, to some audience confusion. They dove into "Madrigal" because that song required only bass pedals!

My first Yes show. "Tormato" hadn't actually been released yet, so those songs were met with some confusion, except "Release, Release", which got a great response from the crowd. "Circus of Heaven" and Wakeman's solo were kind of dippy. "Roundabout", the encore, was great, even played without its intro.

This was the first of the 6 Tormato tours shows I saw and the only show I had the chance to see Release, Release. Other highlights of this particular show included the Time and a Word medley, especially the Fish, Parallels, Awaken and the encores.
