Tormato Tour Survivor

Tommy Aldridge rocks and so does Neil Peart and don't forget Carmine Appice! But to say Alan is not as good as Bill is wrong. Lotsa ways!
This tour was the band at the peak of their form, you were there, you know! Alan was all over Bill's diddling style with heavy, layin it down...scare yer face off...ON HIS GAME, DRUMMING!!!

I too was there and will never forget the grand entrance they made walking down the floor to the revolving stage at center ice. Tormato was considered a bomb both commercially and critically. However, it has always been special to me because of this concert. I think that Going For The One is the best Yes album ever made. I like to think that Tormato was an extension of that. I will agree that it is not nearly one of the best Yes albums but the songs will grow on you if you give them the chance. I would give Tormato 5 stars, but I would give ever single album (and they have made alot of them) 5 stars. The musicianship of the various incarnations of Yes have always been at the very top of their game. Chris Squire is the god of bass. Jon's vocals are nothing short of angelic and Rick Wakeman................... I have no words to describe his talents. Steve Howe, an absolute brilliant guitarist, especially with an acoustic guitar. Alan White, not quite as good as Bill Bruford, but who is? Maybe, Tommy Aldrich or Neil Peart. Yes can do no wrong. I have always wanted Yes to release a live recording of the Tormato tour. Yesshows was good, but I want the actual concert in it's entirety.

I was there. It was "An evening with Yes", the concept of doing the arenas "in the round" had to be expensive. It was a fantastic show, the opening was incredible. They used the Firebird suite and came out of the lockeroom entrance at the end of the icerink. Where the hockeyplayers would exit during games. (Blues).
A verybright light came through the doors and the band ran down the middle of the floor to the stage. It was awesome. I had 1st row parquet at the center line. The music seemed much better with the round setup. The speakers were hanging in the round as well. There newest album was a monster, Wakeman was with them, Jon sounded amazing. It was just un-forgettable. I wasn't much older than 17.
I will alway look back at that evening as the finest progressive rock event I have ever attended.
