Ed Arnold Monday, December 21, 2015 12:21 PM I was able to stand near the bottom of the loading ramp into the basement of The Spectrum and listen to Yes practice sections of Arriving UFO on this day. I knew the album very well and was thrilled to hear they would be playing it that night. Just thinking about it sends a rush through my blood and makes my hairs stand up! I was fifteen and so ready to see Yes live. Ah, well I couldn't get a ticket that this teen could afford that night. I've seen them many, many times since that afternoon but I wish I could have seen them that night! :D Steve T. (Ketace) This was my first YES concert at 15 y/o. I had an amazing day. I seen ROCKY II in the afternoon and I was set to see this band that I was told that was going to change my life. I went to the show with my friend Bob Mac and we sat in Sect M Row 4 Seats 8 & 9. I remember Jon being in his amazing white outfit w/tassles. Steve was jumping playing Siberian Khatru. Chris' hands were the largest I've ever seen and his bass playing was awesome. When they played Future Times,Rejoice and with the spinning stage it brought tears and goosebumps. Alan never missed a beat and Rick was tremendous playing his stacked keyboards (which are his trademark) and he kicked the soccer ball quite weel also. During Starship Trooper when the lighing rig came down like a spider..this 15 y/o was in his glory and he thought he was in Heaven. I will always remember this show for the rest of my life and I thank Yes for bieng there for me! Paul V. Gravelle Jr All of us we're hoping that they would mix the setlist a bit as this was the third night in a row we were seeing the band. I remember getting excited when Jon announced it was his wife's or special friends birthday or something. I kept telling myself "their gonna do something off of Tales for this". To my disappointment we got nothing new and it was the exact show as the previous two nights. It was to be the last time we ever heard any Tormato material again. Fred Tollin Ahh June 22nd 1979 the day before my b'day(17th) me and a bunch of friends went to see Yes at the Spectrum. This was one of my first concerts(I think I'd seen REO Speedwagon and Kiss) so being it was my b'day the next day I ingested a psychedelic substance before the show. When the lights went down I went up!!I really do not remember alot about the show but Wakeman was G-dly looking!!!!! |
