We traveled day and night to reach the sacred grounds of Konocti. As we rolled towards our destination, we looked for people like us on the highway, people who appreciated the music of Yes. We only found our selves.
My friends and I were among true royalty and that was not just the meeting with Chris, Jon, Steve, Alan at the Yescapade event. Yes fans as far as Ireland and near as Canada and Hawaii made the journey to the Yes quest a priority in their life, as did I. What a day and something I will never forget. After Yescapade, we killed a few hours in the surreal quiet town of Kelseyville by taking a short siesta. I dreamt I was transported to 1973 and I was trying to explain to Chris and Jon that in the year 2001 they will still be playing great Yes music together and loving it just as much as they do now. I told them not to be worried by the late eighties early nineties period. They seemed satisfied but very perplexed.
What an amazing show it was. Yes with a symphony was brilliance and as the sun sat down over Konocti Harbor I felt like my California summer was, complete. Every song on the bill was perfection to say the least. I cannot wait to see them for the upcoming Magnification tour. I finally appreciate the power of folklore.

Incredible show. The best thing is the audience. They (we) LOVE these old epics. Standing ovation after standing ovation. Makes me think they just might keep coming.

I get the feeling that Chris Squire must bug Steve. Steve always stands by patiently during bass solos, but during Steve's big solos, Chris is all over the place. I've noticed such interactions twice during their Symphony tour on Starship trooper. Chris gets his solo, the keyboard gets his, but Steve's is just overrun by the overzealous Squire. The second time I saw that, Jon went to point to Steve, to give him his due, but saw that he was sulking. Jon looked a bit sad about that. It must be tough keeping that act together, but I hope they just keep coming. If they don't, I can say that I've seen them do The Gates of Delirium 5 times now (Relayer, Solo tour, Masterworks, Symphony twice) and may never be the same again because of that. During the incredible non-musical complete abandonment of senses section towards the end, it was fantastic to watch the orchestra going wild over their violins and basses. It's the craziest thing I've ever experienced, dancing on the edge of insanity with Yes.

As a bass player, I've always watched Chris first. But these days I stand in complete awe watching Steve Howe perform. He is so dedicated to these songs that he helped create. Thanks to Yes for a million incredible musical moments over the years. I'm just so glad the audiences are still coming and the band is better than ever.

Well, they fixed the sound! This small venue, outdoors, was perfect, the night was perfect and yes was at their best.

Clear lake was visable from the venue, only a few hundred yards away. The lyrics "In and around the lake, mountains come out of the sky and they stand there" seemed as they were written for this concert.

The orchestra sounded loud and perfect from my seats and were very professional. They really added to the band in every way.

The air was warm, I only wore shorts and a light tee shirt. The audience was very into YES, and the members were very into the crowd. The band members all showed up to the Yescapade to meet fans earlier in the day, and seemed like they had fun all day at the resort. It showed in the music.

Steve Howe was unbelievable as always on the all of his tools of the trade. Never missed a note. Jon's voice was very good. Chris and Alan were lively and seemed to be really having fun. The show was full of real treats, like playing nearly the entire side of the Tales album. Close to the edge started the show, and brought tears to my eyes. The show finished with round about. I won't bother with the song by song list, because it has been posted already. You and I was done especially nice.

I will be going to the Concord show in 3 days. I sat in the thirteenth row for this show and I will be in the FIRST row for concord. I cant wait. I wonder what the difference will be like? Soon I will find out.

For the rest of you out there who are waiting for the show to come to your area... Get ready for a really good one!!! They really blew me away last night.
