Yes has been my favorite band since I first heard them wayyyy back in the early 70s. Close to the Edge is my favorite album. I've seen them just a few times (I've been to 100 concerts of one group or another), but this was definitely the best concert I've ever attended. Of course, timing may have had something to do with it, but I was in the 3rd Row that night, and everything was going pretty well in my life. The band was incredibly tight, and the set list was one that I would have drawn up myself, given the opportunity. The show was so good that I was happy for days. ...Nine days to be exact. What a great night that was. I'll never forget it. I haven't attended another concert since, and probably never will again.

It was my second Yes show. Last time Jon was wearing some type of admiral uniform in the mid to late 80's. Thank god the 80's are over.

The show was superb. The band was so tight. They played every song I wanted to hear, including Gates and Ritual. Right before Ritual Jon commented on the full moon standing over the horizen in the crip fall night. It looked just like to cover from Tales! Truly a great experience.

Can't wait for the summer tour.

This was my fifth or sixth Yesshow. I saw them last year, same time, same venue, same (nearly) set list. I was elated to hear my favorite tune (Gates...) last year, not to mention the rest of the superb set list, performed with breathtaking musicianship & passion. It was the "classic" Yes fans dream concert come true. I was amazed to read a begrudginly positive press review in the local rag. Could hardly be topped, or so I thought. I was totally stunned by this years show at SPAC. Halfway thru Gates, I turned to my neighbor, both of us agape and spoke the same sentiment: how do they get better every year. Their skills & sensibilty have, it seems to me reached a level not in evidence in the more widely R.S. approved fare. Though I usually have a more reserved reaction to new matl they have presented in recent years, I was floored by In the Presence of... and have increased my apprcn of it with each listening. I agree sometimes the symphony was obscured & could have enjoyed hearing more of their contrbn; but the contribution that was there was electrifying. If you weren't able to see this show, be sure to pick up the impending DVD of the show. (Apparantly the Atlanta show?) 30 years on and they just keep getting better; and they keep making the effort. I have heard of others who were disappointed by this show. Cannot comprehend. Anybody else have a less than satisfying experience with this show? Was I hallucinating? No substances involved. SEE THIS BAND PLAY!!

I recently caught Yes at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, and in the words of my eleven year old daughter, "It was awesome!!" This was my 13th Yes concert( it was certainly not unlucky) Ironically I was going to take the entire family to the Masterworks tour, but they decided they did not want to sit thru a bunch of 20 minute songs. So instead they came with me on this tour and it turned out they enjoyed the epics as much as I did. My sixteen year old daughter had seen Yes with me on the OYE tour but thought this was even better.

I thought of this tour as Masterworks done right. They played the epics as least as well, and Starship Trooper was a much more intense version. We lost HOTS but gained a smoking version of perpetual change, Long Distance Runaround, And You and I plus the 2 new songs. They played In The Presence Of very well. The crowd seemed to enjoy the new songs.

SPAC as it is know locally was a nice place to see a concert, a very rustic setting.

My only complaint was that we could barely hear the orchestra. It really would not have mattered if they were there or not, because Yes played so well the concert would have been great without them.

This show just wetted my appetite for the Garden State Arts Center show which I saw a few days latter, but that's another story.
