Marc S. Berlin 09/11 – ICC The set list did not change here. All epics were included. It was nice to see the orchestra members moving to the rhythm of the complicated music. I think they enjoyed the show too. Jon Anderson was waving and smiling around as usual. I think he was in a good mood. Chris Squire was great. When he was walking around during his solo parts he showed us who´s the master of the bass. Alan played very powerful. Steve Howe seemed to have some problems. He shouted at his guitar tech very often. Tom Brislin is a fabulous player. „Close to the edge“ becomes slower from tour to tour I think. Nevertheless a fantastic opener. At the ending of „Long distance“ I missed „The fish“. „Don´t go“ was the weakest track for me. Jon introduced Alan White on the piano and sang a kind of „Tour Song“. „In the presence of“ was very powerful and sounded better than on the album. „The gates of delirium“ was a highlight for me. I think it sounded very similar to the album version. Astonishing! Steve Howe did „Corkscrew“ and „Clap“ .During „Clap“ the low E-string was not tuned correctly. He included the tuning to the track. Perfect. When they started „Starship Trooper“ something was not right. So they started it again. „And you and I“ followed, introduced by the Jon with the words „a song we played on every tour since we´ve recorded it“. Then he announced „Ritual“ which was fascinating. Especially the drum section was great. „I´ve seen all good people“ is not my favourite but it was ok. „Roundabout“: I think it´s enough. I can´t hear it anymore. All in all a great show.
