This show represented a big road trip for a buddy and I. A fond memory as it got both of us land-locked guys out to the west coast for the first time.
I was such a Yes fanatic, my buddy went elsewhere in the PNE and I hardly noticed.
Fond memories of the Solly's Beard/Si solo pieces. Starship trooper left me wanting for Steve Howe on stage - no doubt about it. The track lighting came down and crossed across the stage during the climax of Starship.. - pretty cool at the time methinks.
It was an opportunity to enjoy Jon, Chris and Alan in particular during a somewhat strange phase.
The tour kicked off another leg taking them to Calgary later that year (September). I recall that there were certain changes/refinements to that show, by comparison.
Looking back, I wouldn't have missed it, but the memories aren't particularly fond for Trevor's style and Chris's stethoscope, etc. The 80's had some pretty dated elements alright, and it's tough to recall this incarnation of Yes as having run through them.
