On the 90125 Tour, the video 9012Live was "Filmed" in Edmonton. Back to back nights with same show except the boom camera on different side of the stage. On the second day there was a call for extras on the radio and I went down to the Coliseum, needless to say what we did ended up on the cutting room floor. What I seen that afternoon was kind of disappointing. They were doing retakes! What they were doing was White close-ups for a drum lick in Owner. They just had the drums stage litwith 10 people standing around the kit. White was playing with a taped sound bite about 10 seconds long with about a dozen takes. Bottom line? The video is contrived! Live my ass! Jon was backstage with stage clothes 2 p.m. in the afternoon. I imagined he was next for the close-up retakes. Why else would he be in full stage dress at that time of day. The up side? I got to shake Jon's hand as he walked out of the dressing room as we were being ushered out the stage door. Notice that I said "filmed". As the show was in full swing, the cameras that they were using used canned film. The cans being changed at a frantic pace as the show was going. All cameras being reloaded at different times, whenever they ran out. Hundreds of cans lined up on tables backstage being labeled and sorted. The logistics of putting it all together in a coherent way boggles the mind.
