From what I remember this was the Chris Squire Birthday show and his Bass Solo that night was the highlight of the night. That solo and the climax build of AIM HIGH SHOOT LOW ... Wow the sheer sonic force going on has never been matched by any other YES lineup.

this was my very first yes concert. yes had been my favorite band since the late 70's when i was a pre-teen. lots of die-hard yes fans were still under the impression that yes was no good without steve howe. i personally never thought so. 1st of all, trevor rabin in my opinion is the most talented and hardest working musician to ever be a member of yes. and besides that, the remaining 4 members on stage that night were all veterans and long time members of the band, kaye, squire, and anderson are all ORIGINAL MEMBERS unlike steve howe or rick wakeman. white had been the drummer of yes for 15 years, so this was definitely a supergroup. i remember thinking that it wouldn't be all that special, but at least i would know & like the songs they played. from the moment they kicked into the opening number until their last note, they blew me away. i had no idea what i was in for. their sound was unlike any other rock band i'd ever seen, it was actually audible (for starters). they played excellently together and during their solo's as well. they were already my favorite band, but now they would be something even more. and they really didn't play much old stuff. heart of the sunrise was definitely a suprise. i loved tony kaye's playing on that song. i think it was really cool for him to accept the challenge of such a difficult keyboard song. and he played it wonderfully. his work with the organ in the heavy section really made it all worthwhile. i have also been a fan of the song "shoot high aim low" since attending this concert. there is just no way to understand the power of this song, unless you hear it live. they didn't seem to be in that good of a mood that night, but they still rocked hard. and it was a while before i saw them play with such power and precision again.
