Bad show, on the whole. My second Yes gig, the first proper one (the previous had been ABWH), yet so confusionary and a whole big mess. The Palasport in Rome was (and still is) one of the worst places ever to listen to music in, I also bought tickets in the gallery and I was thousands steps high above, couldn't listen to a ny single note, but probably it was better this way: I hadn't enjoyed the Union album at all, it seemed to me that the blend between the two Yes hadn't worked at all, they were lacking melodies, the good in Trevor's skill couldn't shine along the good in the ABWH line-up, and the Bruford-White couple could never work at all: Alan was playing rock, Bill was playing electronics!!! Ouch, what a bad gig! I can also clearly remember an odd version of "Owner", with an odd keyboard solo by Rick in the middle... I then decided I wouldn't go to any further Yes gig (also because I'm a huge Genesis fan, there's a bit of rivalry I can feel between the two bands, alas), in fact it actually took me 12 more years to show up at a gig, and that was a "manna from above" (quoting), 'cos I had the lucky chance of watching Yes in their probable final gig with the original line-up... such another sort of gig, finally!!!

I was there, seventeen years ago with my wife and my friend. Wonderful, awesome.
