Well, it looks like this was definitely the last Yesshow Bill Bruford performed. He has just posted this message on his official website:

"After 41 years of moving the percussive pulse in music and raising people's pulses in general, Bill Bruford has announced his retirement from public performance, effective from January 1st 2009."

Regarding the review by "Robin": This guy was either at a different Yes concert or on bad drugs, because they didn't play either "Siberian Khatru" or "Close to the Edge" at this show!

I wasn't there -- but the boot recording documents this final 'Union' show as being FANTASTIC!

It was my first major concert in years, and my first Yes. I went along with my girlfriend at the time, Miki, who bought the tickets as an early birthday present. Nothing could quite describe the anticipation and excitement of seeing these guys for the first time.

As Siberian K came to its climax, prior to the opening number, seeing them stepping up, one by one onto the stage, and the slowly ascending laser lights and increasing intensity brought me to tears completely. It was a religious experience practically. Despite the anti Rabin fraternity, and the Union thing in general, I thought it was great to have all the old and new lineup up there together. Sound was great, considering the venue.

Oddly, though. I've since seen them here in Japan and never felt quite the same. I enjoyed it, for sure, but I had no qualms about taking a piss halfway through CTTE this time. It was like, "been here, done this." BUT, I'm looking forward to seeing them in Sept. Perhaps I'm a happier man again these days.
