I was present as well. Can't say too much about the music, because it was a sports arena, and the acoustics were terrible. Reviewing for the Gonzaga Bulletin, I described Black Sabbath as sounding like what would happen if someone put a trashcan over your head and bashed it with a baseball bat. Mostly I remember Ozzy jumping up repeatedly and giving the double peace sign with that ridiculous fringe on his arms. The intricacies of Yes were lost in the echo chamber. Glenn Cornick of Wild Turkey was charging around with his bass. Glad I have the memories, though, because Sabbath became my favorite band.

I was at the show, and my favorite was wild turkey. Black Sabbath was good and yes sucked, mostly it was a bad combination. Two totally different styles of music.

I was there as well. My first concert actually, and it was great one. I would absolutely agree that Yes stole the show that night. Thanks for the promo image. That's fantastic.

I don't know if this date is good, but my mother, who promoted some concerts (not this one) including some in Spokane, told me that she met Yes in Spokane sometime early in their career, though the way she described it, it would have been earlier than this.

As far as trucks having time to get from one place to another, some of those guys had to drive awful hard (I worked backstage at several venues in Portland, Oregon for about 15 years). Plus, some large acts (such as the Stones, at least) would have 2 or more stage setups, and while one concert was being set up in one location, another crew was driving another set to the next location. That way the band could just fly to the next concert, and the crews didn't have to kill themselves. Perhaps something like that went on here.

I believe that this gig definitely happened. This can be confirmed by visiting [Link] There are many tour itineraries and flyers from Sabbath's 1972 U.S. tour with Yes and Wild Turkey. There is a flyer from the Spokane gig there.

can anyone provide any information on this show? i would say the date is 99 percent wrong. the trucks would not have enough time to travel between denver colorado and spokane washington and from spokane washington to los angeles california on those dates. it could be a bogus concert. does anybody from spokane know?
