I found out about this concert 3 days beforehand. I looked into getting seats at Benaroya Hall in Seattle but they were to steep, I have been to Benaroya many times to see the Seattle Symphony so I am very familiar with the venue. I noticed a date in Spokane looked into getting some tickets there were a few left and we were ready to roll. My wife and I needed a day to get away from it all and drove 320 miles from Port Orchard to the Star Theater. (Which is actually the Spokane Arena with a curtain dropped at center ice for a half seating venue.) It was a beautiful sunny day. We arrived in the Inland Empire got a bite to eat at the mall then headed down for the festivities. It was freezing, we parked and walked to the gate and my wife's teeth were chattering. It was a very relaxing evening, we had very good seats in the 2nd level. I just sat back and took it all in. "South Side Of The Sky" was riveting the bass just crushed my chest. I was pleased to see Wakeman back where he belongs he was just awesome better everytime I see him play. Squire was in top form very energetic and entertaining, Jon sang beautifully I don't know how a guy that is 58 can sing better than he did 30 years ago, amazing. It was nice for Yes to play this date I know some folks came in from Montana for this gig, they may never have another opportunity to see Yes again.
Steve Hilkin
Well, once again the boys were stellar!! I caught them opening night of the tour in Seattle in July and the were alittle rough having only practiced a couple of weeks. This was Much tighter & quite excellent.
We Have Heaven & SSOTS will stand out as some of the Best.
They kept the same setlist as last past few nights, with the exception of adding back in the Roundabout encore. Thank you, Thank you!! For all those die hard YES fans that don't care that the song has run alittle long in the tooth, still appreciate the song for it's historic context. The crowd in Spokane throughly enjoyed it to say the least.
This was my 15th YESshow in over 31 years we sat first row for My Favorite Live Rock act. They are so incredible that after all these years that they can still overwhelm your auditory senses!! Rick was in great form! Steve was unbelievable how tight he keeps playing show after show. Chris kicked ass on his solos in The Fish, Tempus Fugit & Silent wings... Alan also was just as powerful! Jon your voice never ceases to amaze me how angelic you can be. They brought tears to my eyes at the end of Awaken.
Like the time I ran away, turned around saw you standing close to Me!!!
'til the next tour!!! YES, YES, YES, YES!!! Love Ya!!
