MAGNIFIQUE !!!!!!!! Daniel Currado Ohh God . . . I have just came back from my trip to Barcelona . . . Very nice city indeed, but . . . the Razzmataz is the most awful and horrible place I have ever seen in my life . . . How can a band like YES perform in such a horrible place????????????????? Come on!!! I don´t know who´s responsable for that, if the Band Manager, the organisation, but pleaseeeeeeeeeee A BAND LIKE YES DESERVES RESPECT, CATALANES!!! I saw YES like fifty times in LatinAmerica, always with my numbered seat, comfortable, and freshy . . . not pushed and shoved like a sweated cow in the middle of the "first world" in Spain . . . Anyway, the show was great and the band is in better shape that ever!! Many YesWishes! Daniel Alex Ander I wasn´t expecting less than I saw and listen tonight. They performed a quite direct and straightforward gig without many surprises (the fact that I have been checking the repertoire and comments about the tour in this superb site didn´t help). The response of the audience to the individual solos was fantastic (specially to Howe who seemed pretty amazed) and overall, considering the extreme temperatures the audience had to put up with (did someone say "cold audience"?) ,admirable. My hope for next visits to my country is that they come up with a more sophisticated and somewhat less "treshed" repertoire (I think we could bear not listening to "Roundabout","I´ve seen all good people" and such).I also missed more space for fresh improvisation in the performing of the songs, although I enjoyed the terrific guitar-keyboard dialogue in "South side of the sky". One more thing, before the show began the almost metaphysical dilemma came to me about wether I should buy the "Fragile" or the "Tales" T-shirt...I finally chose this last one...now,if I had bought the former would they have played the whole "Tales from topographic oceans" album instead? ;) Jordi Pascual Just back from the gig... F*cking gorgeous... First time in my life I've seen them perform live, and hope will not be the last... No surprises when it comes to the set list... A bit of pain in the ass since 'Fragile' doesn't rate among my top-10 Yes albums, but... having Awaken live (my all-time-favourite Yes track) is the worthiest compensation. I knew Wakeman and Squire would be thumbs up as always, so the biggest surprise for me have been Howe's excellent acoustic renditions of To Be Over and The Clap. Sort of cold audience... maybe a bit grown-up. cheers. |
