I can remember this concert like it was yesterday. My friend Dave Miller was on a backpacking trip with some other friends and Gary Hodges, and Michael Morton when to see this show. Alan White had just joined the band replacing Bill Bruford. Jon Anderson was in great form as was the entire band who included Rick Wakeman, Steve Howe and Chris Squire.

I remember Jon Anderson talk about how the clouds were magnificent as was their music. I also remembering them telling the crowd that they were in the process of recording "Close to the Edge", and they played about 3/4 of the song and then it broke down as they hadn't finished it.

Glad to see my memory is still working. I was a GI stationed at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey when two friends and I took off to see this concert. We had good seats, the acoustics were great and I remember so well Johnny coming out for the encore and playing Johnny B. Goode and I think Jumpin' Jack Flash. Then out came Yes and with Steve Howe playing his excellent guitar, Chris Squires playing some excellent bass and Jon Anderson singing it made for a memorable night. Had to post after reading of Johnny's death a couple of hours ago and reminiscing about the times I saw him. Thanks for this space.

I was at the show and remember Edgar Winter with Johnny Winter coming out for a couple songs at the end. Jumpin' Jack Flash was one of them.

The Eagles weren't there. It was a two band show.

Jon Anderson mentioned that this was the first concert that they had performed Siberian Khatru at.

I saw my first of many Yes show 8/5, 1972 (at Berkeley Community Theatre - not S.F. to be exact). I had never, and have not since, left a concert in such awe as that night.

I remember Edgar Winter played (r. montrose on lead) and Johnny Winter played the encores (johnny B. Goode). I noticed the night before from your lists that the Eagles also played in LA. I didn't see them and I don't think i was so late I missed a whole set.

I didn't know Yes music well then but I vividly remember 'I've Seen All Good People;, 'Heart of the Sunrise', and 'Roundabout'.
