I believe it might have been the best up and close personal rock experience I had as a late teen. Rick Wakeman was unbelievable.

Ah yes I remember it well....my first Yes Experience.....there were problems with the sound system that night that were noticeable during the Yes set but nonetheless it was still a great show....Yes had started getting serious airplay on the local stations and Humble Pie was attracting crowds based upon Rockin the Fillmore and I Don't Need No Doctor. I would have to check but I believe this was Humble Pie immediately post Peter Frampton. Shady Grove Music Fair out in the middle of nowhere at the time. Close to the grounds of the Washingtonian Hotel and Golf Course. I think those were the only major landmarks in Gaithersburg at the time. I was brought to the show by a couple of older friends. I was sixteen at the time and it really launched a lifetime pursuit of Yes shows that continues to this day.

I still remember this show. It was at the now defunct Shady Grove Music Fair. We arrived a little late due to the weather (light snow). It was a great show. My lord, almost 33 years ago.

The one crazy thing I remember was an over zealous fan tried to run off with the guitar from one of Humble Pies band members. Couldn't see whose guitar it was.

I will always remember this show and I still love the music of Yes to this day. I only wish they played more of the new stuff on the radio.
