Wow, just got back after an incredible evening in Oslo Spektrum.... a fabulous concert! I saw YES in Oslo Concert House on the Symphonic tour, but even if Gates of Delirium was great, that concert was almost destroyed by terribly poor sound. I was almost disappointed after that concert... but tonight I'm just blown away!
After listening to YES all my life, what more can one wish?: GREAT sound, Rick is back, and the band playing soooo tight and full of energy. The unplugged/acoustic part was original and beautiful, and it was great to really hear Jon's voice clearly. All songs worked well, but the highlight? AND YOU AND I! That song alone was worth the ticket, it left us all spechless. I'm sure ANYONE who never listened to YES would have been captured by that moment.
I can't think of any other band that are doing what YES do today, it's quite impressing. Happy 35, and keep on making music and touring, guys!!! (You're not THAT old, we saw that today!) Make sure there will always be a YES.
'Nuff said, I'm not thinking clearly, still beyond valleys of endless seas... :-)
