I was at this show almost 5 years ago and it is still FRESH on my mind! WHY? Because I just watched part of it a few minutes ago in my living room. THis was a neat Yesshow! The crowd was kinda mellow and the band was really just Tuned-In to the music at hand.
Some folks were put off by the Roger Dean Stage Props, but I thought they gave the whole shindig a real 70's appeal. Filming this event, I took care not to focus too-much on the stage design, so as to leave more to the imagination of any YEsHead watching the video. Plus I was fairly Close-To-The-Stage (pun intended) so I was sure to capture neat close-ups of the band.
THis was a neat tour..to me, a perfect follow-up to the Full Circle Tour because of the added selection of obscure songs and Mind Drive...not to mention AWESOME renditions of AND YOU AND I + RITUAL
which got standing ovations (as did most other songs, too..actually).
I noticed that the video never really got circulated much and isn't even mentioned at this site, so I just wanted to remind anybody who may have been there that the show was filmed and the video actually came out quite well. Very entertaining..w.Really NICE audio, too! I would love to trade for some In the Present shows, as I didn't bother filming them this year. (Not for sale---Trades only). YES were GREAT on the recent 2009 tour and they continue to be amazing...Seriously, Old Men Kick-Ass these days!

Over 30 years of listening to YES! My son was raised with this stuff, turning his "metal" friends on to the frenzy of "Gates of Delirium" etc. So he buys me tickets to their 35th anniversary tour!!! Father & Son sharing some Yes. What could be better than that! PS...they were letter perfect that night. Best Ive ever seen Wakeman too.

3rd nite of the tour-same setlist as San Jose (no Nine Voices)and the guys are getting better each night.

It was a fun filled evening at Cox Arena on the San Diego State University Campus. The venue was about 75% filled but the area was cut into about 3/4th of full capacity. The sound was soooooooo much better than last night in San Jose.

This was the 3rd YESSHOW for my youngest son (all of 8 1/2 years old)and he made the old man proud by singing along with about 80% of the show. It's somewher near 80 shows for this YES veteran of 30 + years.

We sat in the 4th row in the middle section (just a little to the Steve side) and had great views and sounds from the mix as well as the monitors. It was my 3rd of the tour having ventured to the great northwest for opening night and catching a flight home early this morning to get back for "hometown night" with my son after seeing San Jose last night.

The opening 3 songs (GFTO, Sweet Dreams, ISAGP) were much tighter and cleaner than the first 2 shows and the band seemed much looser at the beginning. They hit the end of Sweet Dreams on tonight compared with Seattle especially.

"Mnnd Drive" started out much, miuch better but then Jon seemed to get lost during the last part of TOTC and really flubbed the second section of Mind Drive. To the credit of the band, they were able to fix up the song and it was actually kind of interesting to watch Steve, Rick, Alan and Chris work their way back to a meeting point.

The Southside duel was excellent and the crowd really enjoyed it.

The acoustic section was much tighter with the ends of the songs dead on.

It really is a great thing to do this in the middle of the show. I have already deemed this the "unplugged tour".

It's been 3 nights already but I still pinch myself when I see and hear Steve playing "Rhythm of Love".

And YOu and I was just Kick butt!!! Wonderful in the Appocolypse section. What power.

Ritual was......well it was Ritual, enough said. It's worth the price of admisssion just to see and hear that.

Same encores but they have so much fun with "Every Little Thing" with the "Soon" section of Gates a wonderful let down to go home with "a smile upon your face."

I like the Dean stage but I do agree that more colors or light would probably augment.....but he is Roger Dean and knows his craft.

Tour book is really great. Pricey but if you are into boots, it's a neat package.

I had hoped that my boy would last, but he started to poop out during Ritual but managed to rally for the encores.

Now it's off to bed with work and school for the 2 of us respectively in the morning.

Go see the show as the presentation is so different from previous tours. Really gives a feel of the splendor of the mid to late 70's but the sound is very 21st century.

Keep it up guys and looking forward to Anaheim and Philly.
