Been on both concerts of this tour that touched Mexico ground (Metropolitan and Arena MTY)....
Both amaizing experiences, the best shows that Ive ever been on, and the only ones that efectively put both, a smile and a tear in my face.

¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ F A N T A S T I C O !!!!!!!
De esta parte disfruté TODO, especialmente THE MEETING y TIME IS TIME (si encuentran algo más simple y bello me avisan).
Solo de Howe. HOWE IS GOD.
He is God.
S I . Esa fue la mejor versión de And you and I. Escalofrios, lágrimas, alegría, y coros (saludos al camarada de la fila 13 asiento 9 que coreó junto conmigo esta obra de arte)(-"... esa es...si... es And you and I, ¡¡¡no mames güey!!!"- escuche con singular emoción detrás de mi. -"¡¡si güey!!, ¡¡¡¡si es!!!!"- le contesté).
Ritual.

With "Firebird Suite" on the air, the black curtains slided, and the big pink and purple Dean´s structure on the top starting its ascension, opening like a new born flower and bathed in light, the tears came rolling down from my eyes...... and the guys haven´t showed yet!!!!
The full packed venue started bumpin´ out, and the guys came to the stage surrounded by the screaming shouts and claping hands and ovations of us, the mexican audience, and then the slide guitar of Steve came out from the speakers, introducing “Going for the one”.....
And then we noticed that the house mix was a mess. The only good thing about that mess was Steve´s voice over the top during the chorus, even louder than Jon´s and Chris´ voices.
During “Sweet dreams” the house mix get fixed and then everything went “ok” for the audience, sadly not the same for the band, with Steve claiming that his right monitor isn´t working during the mandolin part of “I´ve seen all good people” and same situation with Cris monitors during “Roundabout”. Instead of those two incidents, it looks that they were “ok” with the monitors during the rest of the entire concert.
I´ve attended 3 previous Yes´ concerts in México City and several other concerts from Marillion to Ozzy Osbourne (about 60), and I can tell for sure that this Yes concert is THE LOUDEST concert I´ve ever attended, and since the venue´s acoustic is excellent, I have no complain about the very loud volume, it was a good loud mix, simply as that.
“Mind drive” was great, and the duel between Steve and Rick in “South side...” was longest and more powerfull than the 2002´ one.... I still can´t understand how Steve´s fingers didn´t bleed.
“Turn of the century”, “Foot prints” and the second part of “Mind drive” were great, with the band playing tighten than ever.
“Your´s is no disgrace” had a great hard´n´heavy feeling, a perfect song before the intermission.
15 minutes later, Rick and Jon began the acoustic set with “The meeting”, touching our hearts with Jon´s emotion, singing from the bottom of his soul and holding his heart in his hands, like I´ve never seen him before.... actually, it reached a point that I was expecting him to start crying along with us.
I´ve never noticed that “Long distance roundaround” is an audience´s favourite in México City until everyone in the venue were singing along with Jon almost during the entire song.
“Wonderous stories” allways be a great song, and I can say it sounds better on the acoustic piano.
“Time is time” wasn´t one of my favourite songs, but now it is in my personal “top 30” Yessongs.
And after that, something that I´ve never seen (even on video) in a Yes´concert: they started to make jokes between themselves and CHRIS SQUIRE SPOKE telling us the whole story behind the new version of “Roundabout”. No matter the great bluessy-boogie-jazzy taste of this new version, all the crowd were singing and claping along during the entire song.
“Show me”.... well nobody´s perfect.
The Steve´s solo track.... I get really dissapointed about the crew hanging around under the lights pulling out the acoustic instruments and the chairs while “The Maestro” Howe were doing his acoustic solo.... It was the worst unrespectful thing for a Guitar God (and for any musician).
I define the Rabin´s era this way: “great albums with some really amazing songs; not Yes music, but really good music!!” so “Rhythm of love” were powerful, even while Jon went out of tune and volume (he was screaming, not singing) while he were dancing surrounded by the crowd.... but he is Jon Anderson, and the minimal thing we can do is forgive his mistakes, just because he is the guy who keept feeding our souls with his music since 35 years ago, so we can´t criticize him for a lost tune.
AND, for those about to criticize Steve´s solo in that song, my advice is to go back and listen carefully Steve´s w

What a wonderful show! The band looked so powerful and so energetic since Going for the One. It was so nice to hear songs like Mind Drive, Yours is no Disgrace, South Side of the Sky, And You And I... The acoustic set was ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. YES is the wonderful band on Earth since many years ago. Jon, Steve, Chris, Rick and Alan always creates a special atmosphere through their music, and all the people I know that attended the show were so fascinated.
Thanks for visit Mexico again, we hope to see you again on tour many years, and we hope to see you again in Mexico because it is always a pleasure to hear you live, and there are many people who didn´t have the chance to see you this time. Come back soon!... Always welcome here in Mexico.
THANKS

What a show ! someone in the audience shout "que bonito!" (this is beatiful!) just at the beginning of AYAI (the Howe's introduction), just showing us how space transported he was .... and yes, it was a beatiful show, very progressive, and after every song lots of ovations to the maestros, people shouting, jumping, clapping honouring the maestros. The acoustic set was just perfect. The place was full and the mood excellent all the time, by the way the Metropolitan theater is a beutiful place, near Mexico City downtown, i didn't know it, i went there from Puebla City. My only complain: the sound system (the sound engineer...), at the beginning Jon's voice was inaudible but that was fixed soon, to my taste the drums were too low in the mix and some keyboards too, just getting better in the middle of the concert. But that doesnt matter, the music and the performace was excellent, just see Steve and Rick's duels and then Chris and Rick's duel worth every peso, finally, I recommend everybody to go to buy your tickets soon, don't miss this tour.

"FANTASTIC" WERE THE WORD THAT JON ANDERSON SAID, AND I´LL USE IT TO DESCRIBE THIS INCREDIBLE GIG. EVEN THOUGH THEY MISSED SOME CLASSICS AND FAVOURITES LIKE "CLOSE TO THE EDGE", "HEART OF THE SUNRISE" AND "STARSHIP TROOPER", I THINK THAT ALL THE PEOPLE THAT WITNESSED THIS CONCERT DIDN´T MISS THEM, AS WE SAW UNBELIEVABLE PERFORMANCES BY HOWE AND WAKEMAN. THE HIGHLIGHTS OF THE NIGHT IN MY OPINION WERE "SOUTH SIDE OF THE SKY", "RITUAL", "AND YOU AND I", "TURN OF THE CENTURY" AND "ROUNDABOUT". "SOON" WAS A VERY UNUSUAL WAY FOR CLOSING THE CONCERT, BUT IT WORKED AS WE LISTENED TO ANDERSON´S WONDERFUL VOICE, SQUIRE´S POWERFUL BASS, WAKEMAN´S PERFECTLY PLAYED KEYBOARDS, HOWE´S CLEAN AND FAST GUITAR AND THE CLOCKWORK ALAN WHITE.

As I said back in my review of the december 8, 2002 show in México City, I were with my eyes closed since then, waiting for the next Yes concert.... And now I´m happy because Yes is coming to town again, and I will be able to open my eyes again, and I will see heaven again.

THE SHOW
Venue: Teatro Metropolitan Date: April 24, 2004 Audience: 3,000 venue @ 100% full This was the 5th show of Yes in México City. Note: The venue was changed from "Palacio de los Deportes" (Capacity of 20,000) to this one because of a big logistic problem as the promotors booked and scheduled two acts the very same day Blink 182 and Yes, fortunately they decided to change Yes to this intimate venue with better acoustic (when doing good sound engineering... the band had some techincal problems with the sound during the first two songs). Jon was NOT dancing out of rhythm but trying to tell the crew about it! :)
