I saw this show and was very disappointed.I have been to many yes shows. My favorite of recent years the orchestral tour from 2002? They can be unreal when steve howe cuts loose like only he can do. The bigger, the bolder, the more audacious the better, but this show was weak.

Acoustic? Who are you kidding? I don't want to see Rick Wakeman, Steve Howe, and Chris Squire, the best in the business at being plugged in, play for an hour without their best weapons. That's like looking at Playboy's "fully clothed" issue. God I hope they never do this again.

Plus Dream Theater totally bit. The one good song was a Yes cover.

This was my eleventh Yes show! Every one of them a precious gem in my life. I, too am a drummer and have been influenced both musically and personally by Yes. I am now a Christian, and I interpret Jon's lyrics as being a reference to Christ ("sad preacher, nailed upon the colour door of time" is just ONE example). Now, I play weekends at local clubs and on Sunday morning in a black gospel/funk/jazz fussion group...thanks to Alan and Bill for the 'over the stereo' lessons, I learned how to play across rhythym lines!

Anyway, I hope this is NOT the last time Yes comes to Mpls. I will be at ALL of their shows!

Yes were great as usual, I was hoping for the Close To The Edge setlist but they did the setlist they had been doing from the previous few concerts. The guys were in fine form and seemed to be enjoying themselves, the sound was good except I couldn't hear Chris' bass very well (may be due to the fact that I was facing stage right, Steve's side).
The band had two banners on either side of the stage that simply said "PEACE", if they were American citizens, I doubt they would be voting for Bush come November! As an aside, Chris seems to have lost alot of weight, I've never seen him this thin since, God, the seventies???
Dream Theater won my award for hands-down the WORST group I have ever seen play in my life, and I've seen a few. Just the most generic prog metal and the singer had that hilariously histrionic Ronnie James Dio operatic singing style. Lots of notes with ironically no MUSIC being played! It was an ORDEAL to get through that set! Oy!
But Yes more than made up for it.

HEY YES fans and visitors, This is more of a PREview than a REview.
If you haven't seen YES yet then get to this concert. The incredible
sound will forever be etched into your being. Very few bands compare
to the excellent composition and euphonious instrumentation. Wakeman,
Squire, Howe, and White are always mentioned in discussions of 'Who's
the BEST'. Anderson's voice will take you on a heavenly journey and
their message is 'YES' not 'NO'. This band compares with any band that
has ever been on any stage. As a 52 year old musician (Drummer) I do
appreciate every members contribution and their expertise in what they
do. They are like a 5 piece symphony that will surpass your every hope
wish and dream of a concert. Tim MacDonald will be there too. :-)
Also, I own the Dream Theater DVD - Metropolis 2000 - and these guys
are worth the price of admission. This concert is a 'Must See' for ALL
