tim The show was fantastic! The first few songs were muddled and sounded "off" but the band got it together by the 3rd song. The accoustic set was a blast. Loved Rick Wakeman sitting at a "Peanuts" size piano with his knees sticking up in the air... at least they don't take themselves too seriously. Loved it when Jon Anderson told a noisy concert-goer to be quiet! Dream Theater was an odd pairing, but I like them and watching them play came to appreciate them much more. Very interesting to watch and great music. I only thought "why do they need the singer?". James LaBrie would sing, then leave the stage for a while. He reminded me of a pompous Fabio. The guy just doesn't sing well. All in all a great show. Frank Jordan Show highlight for me was And You & I, followed by Awaken. They brought there energy to it's peak in this part of the set. It's been a very long tour, and I appreciate that they will still put out their best effort. The venue was very cool. It's great to see this group in such an intimate setting. Personal highlight for me was my good friend George Pisano, finding yet another way to gain backstage access. Although this route seemed to meet him up with very large people ( one dressed in camoflauge ), who didn't seem to share in his methods of Idol Worship, he deemed it a trip worth taking. Taking this different approach ( as he called it ), ended with him " just sitting back and watching this time." Hope the boys have enjoyed this tour, and wishing them much success in the couple of shows remaining. And to George and Claudia, have a great time at Universal ( if they play CTTE that night, please give a thought my way ) Love you guys. |
