I was there. I didn't even realize it was not Bruford on drums.

I'm pretty sure the set list included here is incomplete, though I could be wrong.

At that time I was only mildly interested in seeing the Eagles; they obviously weren't yet the monster act they later became. Yet, their show was great. An acquaintance at the show remarked when they had finished their set: "Yes is really going have to do something to top that show!".

As for Yes, they were simply outstanding. I'm not sure "Close to the Edge" was even released before that show. In any case it was the first I'd heard those pieces of music, and I was completely blown away.

This show was held at the Louisville Convention Center. The Commonwealth Convention Center did not open until 1977.

An excellent show to an enthusiastic crowd. Unfortunately, Rick's piano pickups were intermittantly cutting out that night. He had to cut short the excerpts from the Six Wives of King Henry III. Alan's excitement was contagious. (At least, for this drummer it was.) He was definitely having a good time; an excellent job of playing Bruford's jazz licks with that intense rock enthusiasm. The unexpectated bonus is Yessongs, still one of my favorite works ever.

The Eagles were the warmup act, complete with banjo in "Take It Easy". Mid set, one of the members introduced the next song saying, "Here's a song from our new album. It's called Witchy Woman". A girl in the back screamed with excitement. He responded, "Well, somebody bought the album".
