Wonderful show! Certainly much better than I had expected. I was going to play the part of die hard purist and not go because of the absence of Jon Anderson. Fortunately, my son and I were offered seats by the gracious Ed Seelig from Silver Strings Music (frequent seller of vintage guitars to the stars). The seats included aftershow passes that thrilled my son. I was impressed with the presence of all five band members backstage and appreciated the dialogue that took place with the fans that were in attendance there. One word, "DRAMA". Who thought we would ever hear that material live in St. Louis.

Musical Companion

I thought the show was good. I was looking forward to introducing our son to Yes and got a big thanks after the show. I never thought I would see Steve, Chris & Allen in a 2500 seat venue up close and personal. IMO the highlights of the show included Close to the edge and Steve's acoustic performance. I thought Oliver did a real nice job and was pleasantly suprised after reading some of the reviews. My thoughts on Benoit David are not as good. I thought he did an admirable job but like other reviews I have read I would agree he had a slow start. On several instances in the first few songs his voice cracked. The harmonies were ok for the most part. The song selection was nice but I think they could have picked a few other tunes to highlight Chris such as silent wings. Again Chris introduced the "two newest members of the band". The sound was good all night and I would agree with many others that the keys were high in the mix which was ok by me accept Steve could have been a bit louder. The solos by Chris & Allen were too short imo, as they are prime members of Yes their talents should be highlights of the "in the present" tour. Am I glad I went? Yes. Since mid 70's I have seen this band performing live. There have been and remain to be stellar musicians in the band. I just hope and send out healing vibes that Jon's health returns. Without Jon Yes is a very good band, with Jon Yes is a great band with magic that moves me.

GET OUT AND SEE THIS SHOW. THE GUYS WERE GREAT AND IN FINE SPIRITS. ASTRAL TRAVELLER IS A BIG TREAT (I HAVE NEVER HEARD IT LIVE BEFORE AND I HAVE SEEN YES 19 TIMES).THE DRAMA TUNES ARE BRILLIANT!THE STAGE SETUP IS COOL FOR SMALL VENUES.I THINK OLIVER WAS GREAT AND SUBDUED JUST LIKE HIS OLD MAN.I KNOW THERE IS ONLY ONE JON ANDERSON BUT I THOUGHT BENOIT DID A GREAT JOB ON ALL SONGS ESPECIALLY THE CTTE ALBUM. I HAD A SUPER NIGHT WITH MY OLD FRIENDS!

Without Jon Anderson, my expectations for this show were pretty low going in, but I was blown-away! The only hiccup was the one song from the Trevor Horn era (ugghhh). The sound at the Pageant was as always excellent. Also appreciated the no-smoking rule set for this tour. The best $40.00 ticket I've bought in a long time!!

Hadn't seen Yes until last night. Been a fan since the early '70s.
