I was 14 years old in the St.Paul Civic Center when I had my first experience with Yes it was amazing then, and now standing in front of them again 35 five years later as I was then ,it was more than I ever expected It brought a tremendous feeling of being connected to a memory so fondly cherished from my distant past.

my friends and i drove 6 hours from winnipeg to see YES and ASIA and GRAND FUNK RAILROAD on a cold night in the woods in minnesota. since YES had only been to winnipeg once in 1979, it was a gap of 30 years between YES shows for one of us and since my other friend grew up in the phillipines it was his first. as for me it was the 5th chance to see YES, having always to travel to chicago(2000),toronto(2004) and minneapolis(2004). we actually had plane tickets and concert tickets for toronto(2008), but unfortunately the tour was cancelled because of jon's illness. niagra falls served as a suitable replacement.
the 6 hour drive was made worth it by the chance to squeeze right up front of the stage to see our favorite band belt out the tunes only feet away.
watching steve play those guitar riffs we are so used to hearing was definitely a high lite. a fan was overheard saying "that guy can play anything with strings" as steve changed guitars for every song and played 3 guitars in one song, "and you and i" i think?
as for chris, alan, benoit and oliver all were stellar performances and i saw and heard no reason to say anything negative about anything. the music still sounded very much like YES to me!

Wonderful performances by both Asia and Yes were seen by many fans Saturday night in the cold north woods of Walker, Minnesota at Moondance Jam. I saw Steve blowing on his hands many times trying to warm them up late in Yes' set. By the time Yes was done the temperature was down to 50. I have never said a negative thing about a Yes show, but... Benoit, please stop the arm waving and the spinning in a circle. It was a bit too much and it was making me dizzy. I'm thrilled that Yes is able to continue touring with your voice, but honestly, Benoit, it was embarassing. Definite highlights were Tempus Fugit, Machine Messiah and the long jam during Starship Trooper. Even though it was cold, the guys still gave us their very best. It was a thrill for me to be able to meet Chris and Geoff on Friday night as they came a day early to visit with David Coverdale of Whitesnake. It was a pleasure to buy Geoff and his friends a beverage as we watched Judas Priest 2 stories above the stage. I'll never forget how nice of a gentleman Geoff was. I pray that whatever band they may be in, that all these excellent musicians continue to entertain us for years to come. God Bless.

It's such a great experience seeing YES perform Live, They reproduce and translate their music perfectly. Although the other bands at the Festival were good I specifically went to see YES and have been doing so since my first show in 1976 in Rochester NY where there were almost 10,000 attending, And on the Going for the One Tour in 77 where there were a little more than 80,000 in attendance. Benoit David has the spot on voice and stage presence to cover for Jon and it was a treat to see Rick Wakemans Son Oliver Taking the helm on keyboards and synth, once again spot on. It's always great seeing Alan,Chris and Steve play, their like extended family.

Moondance Jam in Walker, Minnesota, is a premiere classic rock festival, with some of the best classic rock bands on the planet scheduled to play every year. This year was no exception. Asia and Yes completed the 3-day rock fest on July 18, 2009. Both performances were nothing short of exceptional! These are some of the most talented muscian's around today. Palmer's drum solo with Asia was as good as I saw Ginger Baker do with Toad many moons ago. Steve Howe played a variety of guitars with his performances in both Asia and Yes. What a treat that was! Asia and Yes were the highlight of the festival and I hope to catch up with them again. Rock on!
