The show was fantastic and worth every penny.
I’m almost as old as Chris and Steve and am hugely thankful that they choose to still tour. I brought my teenage son to the show and we had a lot of fun, saw some terrific playing and were impressed by the complexity and precision of the group. On the way home we compared what we had just seen Yes play to anything we could find on the radio--laughable. What we saw was truly fantastic music. SSOTS, Machine Messiah, and Astral Traveler were our favorites.

I smiled in the joy, I sang in my heart, I grooved in the moment , I marveled in the presence of masters of their craft....Yes, it is not the "Shows" or "events" of the 70's where I saw them carve their legacy,(Music Hall, '72 -Alan just took over)..but the time is now and it's right for me, (at least)..enjoy every sandwich, life is fragile.

I have been a yes fan since 1974 when I first heard CTTE and then saw at Boston Graden the TALES From Top Oceans tour. I have seeen YES 39 times over the years since then. It goes with out SAY. how much JON ANDERSON means to us the fans and YES the music.
There is NO doubt that JON is the soul of the band to a lot of fans, however Jon was sick as we know and he appears to be happy doing what he is doing now. He and the band are not on the same page for what ever reasons may be. What do we really know about the inner workings of this family? I ask is it really better for the world to have NO YES because Jon is not with them? There a 3 other members who I equally love and appreciate who want to carry on. Benoit David is not Jon Anderson. He will even tell you that. But he is just about the only person who can get up there and and it without any change to the feel or the integrity of the music. Can you imagine what it must be like for him. He is remarkable! And let's not forget Oliver Wakeman as well. They are being asked to fill some pretty big shoes don't you think? I am just saddened by the display of shear negativity, blind insensativity and arrogance that I am reading in the BOSTON reviews. Just the tone and vibe of some of these people confirms to all that they are not TRUE fans. Please open your eys and see what is still before you and be amazed at what it is befroe one day it is gone.....I crucified my hate and held the world within my hand........You should as well...........

Since YES is not playing close to me this tour I am posting here. I have read the posts w/o Jon and I agree.

I have seen this new line up twice. The first was GOOD to hear YES music live for the first time since 2004. The 2nd it was not the same. It's Jon or the lack of. I have been a big big fan since 78. I saw YES in the round at the SPECTRUM / the HOUSE of YES!!

I went to the 90125 tour. Trevor started the song singing. But when Jon took the stage it was YES.

Nothing negative. Just a long time fans opinon

the guys were great but Benoit wasnt doing it for me.it annoyed me when he was waving his hands like a fairy. overall i loved the music but without jon its not the same.

I had seen Yes twice in the 90's and was hoping for a similar experience. I truly enjoyed the performance, but agree with other comments that there was something huge missing without Jon Anderson in the lineup. Benoit David did an excellent job of covering the songs, and he has a fabulous voice. That said, his performance was predictable and not terribly interesting as he's imitating someone else. Seeing Steve Howe and Chris Squire work their magic up close and personal was well worth it. All in all a great show, but it's just not Yes without Jon.

Great show. Have been a Yes fan since 1972 and was pleased with the concert. Was it perfect? no!! Was it a good show? YES!
Steve Howe is still great and worth the price of admission.

My third show seeing Benoit and Oliver. Very much enjoyed them both. The set list is refreshing with songs not heard live in a long time. Steve is forever precise and focused, passionate and superb. Good overall sound until late in the show when the mix went south, with hard to distinguish vocals from all 3 singers. Chris was as enthused as ever and always the playful entertainer. Only Alan seemed to phase in and out of things occasionally. South Side of the Sky was fantastic and And You and I has secured itself as the pinnacle of YES shows. 9I agree with prior submission to drop Onward. How about Open Your Eyes instead?

Music is in my soul. In everyone else's case, it's how YOU feel.

I loved Jon and Union and all the guys. It's quality music - about as good as it gets. Yes, I saw them when I was like 14 in a stadium. Now, with my 14-year-old son, in small venues.

Still magic. And in a real sense. Not some grand illusion.

The music - that's what it's all about.

Benoit. He's wonderful. Great sound. A Jon clone. Yes went out of their way to pick a person with Jon's "sound."

We only have a limited number of days on this earth. Be thankful that Yes is still here.

If they were not, please, tell me, where you are going to find a similar "sound."

I'm tired of the sound critics and every other "expert."

When you can sing like Benoit, play like Steve or Chris or become manager, then, maybe you'll get my ear.

Until then ... it's Yes. As presently constituted.

Waiting to get in, I remarked to my sister that there are a lot of old people here for the show. Then I realized I'm one of those old people. But really, the crowd was a broad mix of ages, owing to the universal appeal of the music.

The sound mixing was a bit rough--sometimes we had to struggle to hear vocals and keyboards. In addition, the new singer and keyboard player still seem to be finding their place. At times, Benoit David fit right into the mix, but other times he seemed to be reaching. Oliver Wakeman seemed solid, but without his old man's flash.

The band and the crowd were equally enthusiastic. From Siberian Khatru to Starship Trooper, the audience sang and cheered, and the band, especially Steve Howe and Chris Squire, were into every measure. They have not lost a step since I first saw them in '76.

We had SRO places on the floor in front of the stage, no more than 12 feet from Steve Howe, where we could watch every note. This closeness added to the great experience.

Haven't seen Yes since 1980s in Oxford. Thoroughly enjoyed the show -- Steve Howe in particular was brilliant, his guitar(s) sung and bit all night.
But the rest of the mix was poor: Squire's bass is so distinctive it doesn't need to be pumped so loud that it drowns out both drums and keyboards. Both were inaudible at times. Shame.
That said, excellent mix of songs. The two from the Buggles CD were highlights for me, and 'South Side..'. If they're going to play 'Onward' from Tormato, push it later on, really killed momentum after just 3 songs.

Yes at the House of Blues Boston. I was three rows back from the stage dead center. Which was interesting not only seeing the band that close, but to hear the actual sound coming out of Steve and Chris'amplifiers and not just the PA system. I first saw Yes at Boston Garden in 1978 In-The-Round and have seen multiple shows on every tour since then and as every Yes fan knows, there have been several line-ups since the beginning. This was my third time seeing the band with this new line-up (I call it Drama Part 2). What can I say? Another Great show!! Not only are Steve Howe, Chris Squire and Alan White playing as great as ever, but Benoit David and Oliver Wakeman covered their parts equally as well. I was a little skeptical about how Benoit was going to sound singing Jon's vocal parts the first time I saw them in 2008. But after hearing him sing the first few lines of "Siberian Khatru" all skepticism was put to rest! He sounds great!! The only problem with this show was that both Benoit and Oliver could have been louder in the mix. Benoit's vocals were buried at times when the band was playing at full tilt. The set list was culled mainly from "The Yes Album" "Fragile" and "Close to the Edge" But they also played "Tempus Fugit" and "Machine Messiah" from the Drama album which were great to hear again since I first heard them 30 years ago!!! "Astral Traveller" another song I thought I would never get to hear was wonderful! Steve's guitar intro started from nowhere and just got gradually louder until the band kicked in! "South Side of The Sky" (An all time favorite of mine) seems to be getting better and better since they dusted it off in 2002. What can I say? Another Great Yes show!! Let's see what the future holds for them. Chris Squire did state in a recent interview that the band is planning to record a Cd of new material (with this line-up) sometime later this year. We'll See!!
