zolias Saturday, June 11, 2022 10:07 PM I meant bloomington , Minnesota. Cheers! zolias Saturday, June 11, 2022 10:03 PM To Deb : By your description, you must have seen the March 5, 1974 Bloomington IN show (Tales Tour) You a a lucky fan, because I love TFTO ! Yes! Jeff Johnson Wednesday, September 20, 2017 1:31 PM I remember hoping that Yes would play Starship Trooper (one of my fav early Yes tunes) - they didn't. Deb Beautaunt Sunday, January 24, 2016 8:55 PM Oh YES! Though my mood was altered....I thought I saw the members of Yes come out of a space-ship-looking -lit-up-pulsing pod-thing, where as they returned to when they were finished...I also recall the drum set had wings and floated upward....OK...did that really happen? Dwight Detter Tuesday, July 16, 2013 9:34 PM An absolutely wonderful evening. All three bands were great. The Eagles played an acustic set of Chris Hilman songs. I had not heard of Gentle Giant and found them like elves playing enchanting music and dancing about. Then Yes appeared and the audience just melted into the floor. They changed my musical tastes forever. I saw them on the same tour in Dallas the following April. A good show but nothing like the group of us on the floor in Mpls.. A small but passionate crowd. Curt Lillie According to Jim Eginoire, the first reviewer, this concert occurred in MPLS at the Armory. Something is missing from the past tour date history as they did miss the MPLS armory date. I attended this concert at the armory but cannot recall the date - so I will go with Jim's account of the date as accurate. Anyway the concert was opened with Gentle Giant however I do not remember the Eagles playing with them. Gentle G did one song almost totally unplugged - just playing drum sticks on the stage floor amplified with microphones close to the floor. Yes had not released Close to the Edge yet in the states, however they played several songs from the album that night. It was truly awesome to hear Jon sing and then hear him speak as his two voices seemed totally different (having never heard him speak without singing). One of the great things about this concert was that there no chairs on the main floor so I went and sat just about as close to the front as possible. It also cost only $3.50 as far as I can remember - perfect for a college kid's budget. Truly a night to never forget. I have seen Yes at least 10 times over the years. God Bless Yes - 10/02/2007. Jim Eginoire I know it's been over 33 years since this event, but I know that I was in attendance, but it was at the Armory in Minneapolis Minn. How can I be so sure? It was a transforming event for me. I can say without hesitation that it was a life changing event for me. Gentle Giant opened, followed by the Eagles on what I believe was their first tour. I was sitting in a balcony seat when Yes came on stage. It was like I was under a musical spell. When they started with Siberian Kahtru I was drawn from my seat to the front of the stage, and before I knew it the magical night came to an end. I was not familiar with Yes although I had heard Your's is no Disgrace and I've seen all Good People not knowing who it was. To this day that evening remains a cherished memory. |
