OU: I drove 3 hours to see this show and was not dissapointed! They can still rock. The Cleveland audience was great. I was on the floor (GA standing) about 2 feet in front of the soundboard. The recording came out very well mainly due to the fact that it was a small club abd people around me were fairly quiet. I would suggest that you crank up this show when you listen to it ... you will feel like you are right there in the audience :-) This show is ONLY to be traded freely - never bought or sold. And lastly, ENJOY!!! (thanks Warciple!)

ok, i was 3 people deep dead center of the stage. pleasant surprise to find "1yesfan" Tim & his wife standing directly next to me & my Dad!!

im very picky on my Yes music. i havent heard a bad record, but many of the live shows ive heard in the 90's & beyond are just lagging. sound like theyre just going thru the motions. last night was INCREDIBLE!!! the first few live tapes that surfaced from the whole "In The Present" tour revealed them digging deep into the LP tracks that rarely if ever got played live. due to my stupid life situation, i missed them in 2008 when they played in Clevo that time. found an mp3 d/l of that show a few days later & almost cried it was so good. power, energy, & songs im sure i would never ever see/hear live again...

last nite at the House Of Blues...my dad got me a ticket for Christmas knowing i wouldnt be able to afford it any other way. i Love You, my Father!! youve always taken care of me & def know how to cure my ills!!!

ok, the show... STEVE WAS ON FIRE!!! ive seen Yes only 4 times before (Drama / 90125 2 times / Union tours). ive never seen or heard Mr Howe go off like this. even when they did "Owner Of A Lonely Heart", he just killed it. his riffing & soloing in that made it sound like what a 'classic' yes rendition wouldve sounded like. im not much of a Trevor fan, but i will never deny the fact his input/joining saved this band & 90125 is a fabulous LP. im just not a fan of his style, in general. but dammit,...wow...

the whole set was so tight & top notch...Oliver did a solo in "Wurm" that not only would make his daddy proud, but produced a HUGE crowd pop that threatened to drown out the music..NO JOKE...then Steve came in with his solo to finish it out...speechless...couldnt describe it to you...effin WOW!!!

Alan really pulled it off as well. lots of the live shows ive heard from the last 15 years, he sounds like hes just going thru the motions & makes a lot of mistakes. last night, he was DEAD ON!!! yeah, the tempos werent as heavy & fast as they were in the 70's, but his technique & precision really came through like ive never heard before. AND he was pushing the band, rather than just playing along...

it was also nice to actually hear Benoit David in the mix, rather than have him buried. he really pulls it off well. all you "No Jon = No Yes" haters need to reconsider. yeah, theres no way to replace Mr Anderson, but, wow...he does come close...

and, on the subject of "non-Jon" vocalists... "Machine Messiah"... holy God in heaven, THIS KILLED!!! there was a husband/wife couple from Rochester NY standing in front of me & i made some friendly small talk with them. about 4 minutes into this song, the wife turned around & shouted out "What Album Is This From & Why Dont I Know It??" my Dad yelled out "DRAMA! Its The One With The Buggles!"" & I exclaimed "That LP is AMAZING! 1st time i ever saw them live was for this record!!!"...about 2 minutes later, she turned around & yelled out to us both "Im Buying This TOMORROW!!! WOW!!!"

ok,even unique for this show was the Steve solo. didnt play Clap, or Mood For A Day, or excerpts from Ram. he told the audience they were "Too Quiet" (sarcastically, of course!!) & he'd been bumming 'round Chicago & needed to do his solo on an electric this time... im gonna photobucket a few pics in a sec from my 5-year-old phone that bareley works anymore. the 'band' pics are from "You're Move", but the one of Steve sitting down & doing his solo are from him playing, on electric guitar, " 1 Mint Julep ~ Cat Nappin' "

Re-living the music, it was great! Thought they started a little slow, but things soon picked up. Yes was phenomenal by the time of Heart of the Sunrise and Yours is No Disgrace (my favorites of the show). These guys are solid professional talented musicians and they have proven that they can walk among the best. It's a crime that politics seems to have interferred with their entrace to the R&R HOF. A long overdue well deserved achievement.

Onward, Tempus Fugit and South Side were all dropped from the set, making for (by Yes standards) a shorter (2 hour) performance). But what the guys did give us was terrific.

Steve Howe continues to be the most amazing guitarist I've ever heard, words just don't do him justice. This was the best version I've heard of "Yours is No Disgrace", ever. The solo pieces were both electric, sort of Chet Atkins style blues. Oliver continues to sound better, the "Machine Messiah" and "Starship Trooper" parts were especially good, even a few showy fingerings and flourishes here and there. The whole band was very sharp tonight, very high energy, much more "rock and roll" than the last 2 American tours. My only disappointment with the show was it's length, they only played from 8:05 - 10:00. I'd don't think I'm being too harsh if I expect a little more for the $60 ticket price. Hopefully, we'll see some new music coming out from this line-up, I'd love to hear what new Yesmusic sound like in the year 2010. Setlist

Second time seeing this line-up.The 3 hr drive was worth it.Didnt play Tempus Fugit.But they did do Machine Messiah.Somebody complained about Chris's singing in Chicago or something.Sounded great tonight.All three.Enjoyed Steves electric solo.And fun happy attitude.Chris is always great.Very good show.

I took my (very nearly) 18 year-old son to see his first YES concert in Cleveland and he (and I) loved it. The band's performance of "Machine Messiah" and "And You And I" were stand-outs. "Astral Traveler" was mighty kick-ass, too. True, it would've been better if Jon were there (and Rick, too!!!), but because we have David, we get to here stuff from the Drama album, which isn't a bad thing.

Two other things though (one bad and one not): my son commented that he wished they played longer, (more songs and longer ones, too). I see the band dropped some tunes they played earlier in the tour from the set list. I would've loved to hear "South Side Of The Sky" live. :( One other thing--the House Of Blues venue was the smallest I've ever seen the band play in! For this, I'm grateful to be able to have been so close to my beloved musicians (about six "rows" back from the stage)!

I went to Cleveland EXPECTING A GOOD YES CONCERT what I got was a great one.In the HOUSE OF BLUES venue I heard the best live YES concert I,ve ever attended.The band and the crowd we,re really in to it. Howe,Squire,White, and yes even Wakeman played so tight. It was vintage YES! Benoit David of course is not Jon but he can sing and make it YES MUSIC. The ironic part is it was in Cleveland the home of the ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME ,The fact they are not in it blows my mind . What does it take to be in it? Longevity, great musicians . They have stood the test of time YES MUSIC will be with long after the the so called rock music of today passes. SO hall of shame keep them out you,ll never stop YES MUSIC.
