A great, great show as I rememebr - Seen them on the Union tour, when they did Awaken, but this was somehting else! One thing I wasnt' expecting was Three Epics, Close to the edge, Ritual AND Gates!! they just kept coming!! And the amusing (for a bunch of classical musicians anyway!) manner in which they held their instruments aloft during was it Seen All Good People - can't remember.
Chris's bass tone was teh best I've heard it - Ritual was just astonishing - listening to Yes plough their way through something like Gates you know they could jold their own with these neo-prog acts like the mars volta (who are fantastic clive btw)
Thanks God Yes and King Crimson are still doing it.

The show which was recorded and filmed for the Yes 'Symphonic Live' DVD was at the Heinekin Music Hall, Amsterdam in Netherlands, on Thursday, November 22, 2001.

Hey, YES played in Houston, TX on August 15th 2002, at The Woodlands, I am sure because I was there. It was hot and sweaty but it worth it 100%. Long LIVE YES!!!

The YesWorld folks said that they'd intended the [tour] program to be charged with light before the shows, then used during the show (somewhat like holding up lighters). The environment was just not right, I suppose. I kept my copy under the shirts so that nobody would spill beer on it. I didn't actually look at it until after the concert!

I saw Yes in Glasgow, and thought that it was excellent. As a fan of the vintage stuff I was delighted to hear a set which included 'Starship Trooper', 'All Good People', 'Roundabout', 'Long Distance Runaround', 'Close to the Edge', 'And You And I', 'Ritual', & 'Gates of Delirium'. When I first became aware of the Symphonic tour I was sceptical about the use of an orchestra, but was very impressed at how appropriately (and sparingly) it was used. The only minor disappointment for me was that, apart from during a couple of solos, Chris Squire's bass was mixed way into the background. However, it was an incredible experience nonetheless. Fans from Sheffield, Newcastle and Manchester - you are in for a good time!

Yes have toured the UK eight times since 1977, I've been to concerts from six of those Tours, and with the possible exception of Wembley 1978, the YesSymphonic tour has been the best I've witnessed. A dream setlist,(when they've included "Gates Of delirium", must be a bitter disapointment to people when they have dropped it) an orchestra, a very well rehearsed band, what more could one ask for? and what will Yes do to top it next Tour? A set list that includes Southside Of The Sky, Sound chaser, Parallels, To Be Over, The Ancient ....

Sadly, Yes have again handed their UK fans the "shitty" end of the stick. Across America they Toured with Masterworks (which didn't even come here!), and each night of the current tour have played Close to the Edge,Ritual and Gates Of Delirium, but as soon as they get to the UK Gates Of Delirium will only be played every two nights out of four so don't expect to hear it at Dublin, Brighton, Cardiff, Sheffield or Newcastle. Ritual will get a bit much for them soon and I suspect be dropped before the end of the tour as well. Watch this (large 20 minute..) space.

This tour still goes on until December 13. I am sure every Yes fan knows that. I wanted to go to one of the concerts but the Clarkston concert on August 12 was on a Sunday. It disappointed me. But oh well. I was however disappointed that "Owner of a Lonely Heart" was not played for the masterworks tour. But now they did Owner of a Lonely Heart for some of the European shows. When I found out, I went, "ALL RIGHT!" "Owner of a Lonely Heart" is my favorite Yes song. It always has been until this very day. I am sure this is a good tour. I just hope they will release a DVD of one of the concerts.
