I last saw Yes in a casino with Styx, and the show was a little disappointing. They seemed a little tired, and there wasn't much energy, which wasn't helped by opening with a slowed down version of Tempus Fugit.

However, last night in Omaha they were really on. I loved the enthusiasm they showed, especially Steve, who tore it up. The sound was a little off at times, sometimes perfect, sometimes with the keys too low or guitar too high, Chris' mic too low, etc. But that was pretty minor at its worst and didn't detract a bit from the quality of the show. Night and day compared to the casino show in terms of quality.

The choice of playing those three albums in their entirety was brilliant, and they executed it like they hadn't already performed most of the songs a zillion times before. it sounded fresh, no mean feat for 40 year old material. it was fun to hear A Venture live, and I'd never seen them do Turn of the Century live, which was also a very well executed treat.

JD did a great job with vocals. No offense to Benoit, who did well in a tough position, but JD had a presence and and intonation more appropriate for the music. Not like Jon A in his prime, but who is? I first saw the band during the Tormato tour, and have seen them in several incarnations since then.

I highly recommend this tour to anyone able to see it. You will not be disappointed.
