My husband & I were engaged at only 14 yrs old the night of the Forum concert in LA. I was so excited to go with him as Yes has been an intertangle part of our life from the beginning. That night was without a doubt one of the best concerts I have ever seen in my life!( that is saying something as we have attended every concert they had if at all possible for the rest of our lives and theirs so far). The sights, anticipation, smells of warm cannabis in the air, and excitement as the huge beach balls were hurled above the audience while we waited...then the sound of the "birds" of the beginning of The Firebird Suite began. The crowd went wild. This was the tradition for many many years to come to start the concert with this. Then the highlight of the night..."All Good People" came on as the stage lit up in neon green and black chessboard squares! UNBELIEVABLE! As they sang, they would "move on back to squares" and move to a different square! The crowd went so crazy and it brought the house down! That was never done again and I cannot figure out why? But, this will be an indelible imprint on my mind and heart for the rest of my life. Thank you Yes, for the precious memories.

My buddy & I had not yet decided whether we liked these guys or not - we were meat eating Deep Purple / Uriah Heep / Sabbath / Jeff Beck fans, these guys still seemed a little veggie Crosby Stills to us.

Everyone else we knew was going, we liked the minor second trills at the end of Roundabout, so we made a last minute decision to go down & buy our tickets at the window. Sat behind the stage, which as it turned out was a pretty good Rick Wakeman viewpoint. Blown away, the audience hand held lighters during Stravinsky, the dry ice, the disco ball were all brand new, Wakeman was unbelievable. Life long fan ever since.

Their first time to headline The Forum and my first time to see them. And not too suprising for the time, the place was not sold out. (Of course, neither was the first time Zepplin played there!) Still, a magical experience hearing CTTE live for the first time, mirror ball and all! That, and hearing Wakeman solo some "Six Wives".

Poco opened the show. I didn't care for them but the steel player was great. With Yes Alan White was playing drums although Bill is of course on the album. We had great seats and they were absolutely awesome . If my memory serves me right Rick had quite a few beer bottles lining up on one of his keyboards although it didn't seem to have an adverse effect on his playing.
