This a story that circulated in the PalaSavena near Bologna where Yes held their only concert in Italy.
I do not rememeber who told me, I was too busy in trying to look at the stage setup before the concert started when I heard it. Here we go: Yes apparentely had been feuding with the Italian promoter about the Palazzolo sull'Oglio or the Rome venue for a while. They did not wanted to play in a circus tent or something like this. The promoter apparentely told Yes management take it or leave it, so Yes took these 4 dates, after Rome was cancelled. The day after Jon Anderson fell to an extremely sore throat and no voice. And bye-bye Italy.
I can tell if it was a diplomatic revenge or if Anderson is really sick. Those who know Yes better than me can call their numbers on this.

Anyway - the gig after Bologna was planned for a large tent. My info is that the band were not keen on this venue, - the stage was only 13ft long. (back to front) They wanted to cancel that gig, but the Italian promoters threatened to pull all the others if they didn't "try" to put the show on. I told my Italian friends about this at the concert on Saturday. I wonder!!

In this case, here in Italy, we say "fanculo!".........
The Palazzolo, the Milan & the Florence gigs are cancelled, the problem is Anderson's sickness (throat in fire).
Many people here in Italy think that the problem is, actually, the less of tickets selling. In effect, Anderson's voice, in Bologna, was ok!!

The Palazzolo gig is cancelled at 8:00 PM!!!!!
Official comunication: Jon Anderson is VEERY SICK (confirmed by Will Alexander, Koreshev & Emerson Tech)
My funny idea: the f**king italian promoter is a genius: two Gig (Palazzolo & Milan) in two days, and a venue is at 15 minutes of car from the other!!!! No people, no audience, no tickets selling, NO CONCERT!!!!!
I hope this analysis is correct, cause, in this case, tommorrow I will see Yes in Milan!!!!
