Yes I remember that show. On Thanksgiving Day. We came from Queens to see the late show and my girlfriends mother was no happy we were going to see a concert on that day.The lines out side on 14 st were crazy.We had come to see Yes.But I must disagree with the other guy because King Crimson opened the show.Then Yes and they were unbelievable .Rickwakeman his clothing and that way he played the keyboards.I have seen them afterwards but the first time was the best.We had seats with friends like 8 row on the right side.Procol Harem was waiting to come on but everybody was going nuts over Yes.Procol Harem were great and long we had to leave my girlfriend had to be home she was 15 .I was 19 the academy of music was a great place to see concerts..Saw kiss when they were nobodies .Allman Bros's,the Byrd's,Dave Mason.Slade,come to mind.Im now 65 and still love my music old and new.

It was Thanksgiving and I was 16. Went with friends to the early show (8:00 PM), specifically to see Yes, even though they were third billing. Didn't have advance tickets, but were able to buy extras from people on the street outside the Academy of Music. Yes did not disappoint! After a fantastic set, a standing ovation, and a short delay, an announcement was made that the band had agreed to come back at a later date as headliner. King Crimson and Procol Harem were a great capper, but Yes was the highlight of the show. (After that it was uptown to the Allman Brothers at Carnegie Hall, but that's a whole other story...)

I 18 and back in New York from college. I had tickets for the late show and my mother couldn't quite understand why I was leaving at 9:30PM for a concert after Thanksgiving dinner. Originally, we were going to see Procol Harum and had never heard of Yes. Yes just blew me out of my seat. The rest of the concert was quite good, as I always loved King Crimson and Procol Harum. The next day I scoured New York for the music I had heard, but only came up with Time and A Word. It didn't have the songs I remembered from the show. Soon thereafter, I found the Yes Album and was once again, blown away. What a wonderful experience, one of the finest concerts I ever attended. I remember the show fondly.

It was Thanksgiving...I was 16/My brother was 20...Back then they had early and late shows...Yes was the opening band for 2 other well known bands King Crimson(2nd bill) and Procol Harum (headliner)...My bro wanted to see Procol Harum but me I wanted King Crimson and this other band that I just got on vinyl called YES...The Yes Album was out and Fragile was waiting in the wings...Family diner and when my bro and I said we had to leave early my parents went into shock...We had late show (11:30PM) tics/6th row center...My recollection of the night so many years later is this...This opening band called Yes blew me away...My eyes darted around the stage at these young well dressed English lads (hippy style) playing their instruments as I had never seen (and I had been to alot of concerts back in the day)...Tight arrangements and very complex for the day...Squire on bass floored me with his trebely Rickenbaker sound thruogh Acoustic amps...Howe on his fat Gibson moving up and down the fret board like I've never seen...This little guy (Anderson) with this high voice of an angle...Some guy with long blonde hair with a virtual mountain of keyboards before him as he played them all...Most times 2 different ones at a time...And my highlight was this Harpo Marx lookalike drummer named Mr. Bill Bruford keeping a rhythm so far out there and yet right where it should be...I was smitten and from that day forward became a bonafide Yes fan to this day (just saw them at the PNC in NJ-8/02 with my bro I might add)...A short 3-4 months later Fragile was released and now this opening act was the headliner at The Academy of music in NYC (I was there too)...King Crimson were also excellent and Procol Harum were OK (my bro liked them alot...Trower left the band prior to this US tour)...But Yes to Yes and this was one of my most memorable concert memories in my 30 plus years of concert going...I must say to this day as much as I have seen the band with all the changes the thing I do miss most is Mr. Bruford...But thats another story all together...Thank you to Yes for all the enjoyment they have given me and it all started on a cold and snowy Thanksgiving...Thanks guys...
