My first concert - awesome performance - 15 years old. I remember those moving lights on stage, they looked like snakes to me. Was standing about 2-3 rows back from the stage, keyboard side.

This was the first time I saw Yes. Seating was general admission, which made things more festive - and a festive, lively show it was. We were close to the stage, and closest to Squire, and a lot of my attention was focused on Squire and White, who were the funkiest and most energetic rhythm section you'd ever want to hear. By the Going For the One Tour they were reigned in a bit - which is ironic considering that the GFTO Yes was supposed to be that much earthier...Don't always believe what you read.
They didn't play Starship Trooper at this show. Chris Squire bass solo was Amazing Grace.
Cheers to the comment that this was a life changer. Me too. I was 17, and had been to few concerts (lived in small town and could barely pull off drive with half dozen drunken friends to the big city).

This is not a review of the concert. Just some comments...
Re: David's comments below. The drums mentioned are 'North Drums' and yes they are a hassle to move, set up, mic and keep in tune (they are single-headed as opposed to double-headed). A local drum shop has a yellow set on display. A lot of people comment on them.

Wow.... This was a genuine life changing event, as I was *so* blown away by this show that I am a Yes fanatic to this day...
Even though it was 28 years ago, I can still remember things that happened at that show - I was 16 years old and it literally changed me.
This show was one of my favorite concerts ever - and I've been to a lot of them.

The pictures bring back so many great memories!!

And how odd is this: The writer of the other review here, Bruce Callies, is an old friend of mine I have'nt seen in years.

Bruce reminded me about the second RED drumset...interestingly, those were a very limited production fiberglass shells shaped liked the bell of a tuba to "supposedly" project the sound out more. I'm a drummer and while they were perfect for this the 'greatest of any tour I have ever witnessed' (opinions, opinions), those drums were gawd-awful looking anywhere else. They didn't pack into cases too easily; didn't sell too well either. Wonder if AW still has them?
