My very first concert, head completely exploded. Ruined me for every concert that followed.

Hadn't heard of GG before, instant fan, highlight was So Sincere.

Yes was blazing, the lighting rig was the most awesome thing I had ever seen. and the subsonics were incredible. And lasers!

My second Yes concert. I was on a blind date and had a good time. I also took the pictures posted...why didn't anyone tell me not to use a flash? I blame the fans in front of me. :}

July 20, 1976 -- That was the first concert I ever went to! I was 13. My older brother or older sister (can't recall which) was saddled with their punk little brother, and the responsibility of looking out for my well-being. Hope I didn't ruin the fun for them! I'd not heard of Gentle Giant (I didn't even know there was such a thing as an opening act), but I had been listening to Relayer a lot (my first Yes album) so it was amazing to hear them play much of the album. Thank you to whoever posted the photos and audio - so amazing those moments were captured.

My greatest concert memory was Yes & gentle giant on the same stage. It was a powerful concert. Great music. Great performers.
Never to be outdone !! Glad I was there to experience the event.!

I was 15 and saw my 1st concert a month before (The Tubes in San Jose). Went with some older Yes maniac friends who drove down to San Diego to see the previous show. We arrived at the Cow Palace around 3am and took our place in line (back in the crazy days of festival seating). Around 6am all these hardcore bikers rode into the parking lot, took one look at all us skinny longhair Yes fans and said, "you guys aren't here for the motorcycle swap meet are you?" Spent all day eating a lot, playing football, and looking for bathrooms in Daly City. We sat a couple sections back on the lower left. Gentle Giant was incredible! I was just getting into prog and had never even heard of them. I bought Free Hand the very next day. Main memories about Yes were the 3 headed hydra stage, the fantastic Moraz cathedral organ solo, and the group percussion section of Ritual. One month later, saw Jethro Tull at the Oakland Arena, but that's another story :-)

OMG! I am so glad to say I was there. I'm 60 now and don't remember much about the gig. Gentle Giant came out blazing and never let up. Yes was amazing as always and to see them do the incredible Sound Chaser live was worth the $6.50. I love this band beyond reason. I'm Down by The Beatles was a surprise...never saw that coming.

I still get chills when I think about this show. Starting with Gentle Giant, who blew us away, we actually brought them back for an encore (Ace led off in 75, zzzzzzzz). Then there was the epic Dean stage, with the 3 spinal eyeball setup over White and little cubbys where the band went during Ritual. The laser show was absolutly wild. We sat center stage, in the back, floor was standing (did that in '75). There was a point where the beams were fanned out and spun, we were in a spinning tunnel of light, holding on to our seats, it was unbelievable. The screamin' version of "I'm Down" was hot. You just have to love a show that has CttE, GoD and Ritual in it.

In the YesYears tape, Jon mentioned what a pain this stage was, all I can say is Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!

This was the second and last time I saw this incarnation of YES. It was just as great as the Relayer tour the year before. The Cow Palace holds special memories for me because I had the privledge of seeing YES there twice.

I also saw ELP at the Cow Palace, but that''s another trip down memory lane!

The 76 show at Daly City had Gentle Giant opening and doing an excellent job. The Show was noteworthy because Starship Trooper was some of the best laser lights I've ever experienced. On the back of the Cow Palace the lights actually displayed the Yes logo!

We had just seen the band in Anahiem a couple days before. The only opening act for the San Francisco show was Gentle Giant. A much more appropriate line up than the Anahiem show.

The bands rendition of "I'm Down" was fantastic! On of the best show I've ever seen!
