Rob Simonds

This was the 5th of 6 shows I saw on this tour, and stands out in my memory as the best of them all. It was just one of those nights where the band completely clicked. Ironic, because they had recorded and filmed their previous nights' shows in Detroit but none of them came close to this one. The Toledo Sports Arena was a real pit, and there were no chairs on the main floor, but everyone became transfixed by the middle of the set. During "Ritual" I remember looking around and almost everyone just had their mouths open, looking at each other like we knew we were all experiencing something completely magical. Just another night near the end of a long tour, in an unsuspecting place and a lousy sports arena, but magic happened.
